Re: Spool options for IP68
It's a good spool, just not a long caster, at least for me.IlliniDawg01 wrote: ↑Thu Apr 09, 2020 8:32 pmI thought the IP spool was supposed to be awesome. Are the magnets in the IP extra strong?

Spool options for IP68
The stock spool in the IP68 is not giving me the distance I would like. Looking for a " long bomb" spool for 6xd, 8xd etc.
Thanks in advance

Re: Daiwa SV/magforce and casting style
Yup, the harder you cast, the inductor flies all the way into mags, slowing the spool way down. Some of the springs on the SV inductors are way tooo soft.

Good that you found the info of value. Have had my eye on the Morethan, but just don't need another reel.
I have the previous version of the Morethan, great reel, the new one will have more spool option.

Re: Daiwa Steez Air 2020
The T3 1016 spool is a classic and the FX73SV spool is pretty great as well. Off topic, sorry, but: What do you use the T3 1016 spool for? I have used mine in my T3 a few times but found that it needed quite heavy and aerodynamic lures to perform well. Maybe - probably - I just have not used the sp...

I much prefer my K2 736 custom with spiral wrapped torzites than my NRX 894 with recoils.

Re: —Daiwa Catalina TW 4.9:1–
Just spooled up my Catalina with 50lb. Sunline Xplasma Asegai, had to stretch it out in the driveway, 160ft. Box says .015 dia. No backing, pert near a full spool. So.. being curious, i took the 50 Xplasma and spooled it on a Tatula CT-R, spooled up perfectly. Spooled the Catalina with 16 lb. Sunli...

Re: Opinions on best Dobyns rod for jigs
If you're staying with Dobyns, go with the Xtasy, I have the 755, works well with 3/4 and up. The tip seems a little slower, so I have to put some smoke on it for a solid hookset, but the fish stay pinned.
