Re: NRX+ or Steez Bottom Contact II?
I have both rods - the NRX+ CRR and BC2. I think branching out would be a good idea - that BC2 is a very impressive stick and would be perfect for 1/2oz and even 3/8 as you mention. 3/8 is about the lowest I would go. The sensitivity to me is on par with the NRX+ but with a slightly different feel, ...

Re: JDM Jig rods
The high-end JDM rods have more blank technology than the '08 NRX, but when you are only plugging in 1.5" or so of the blank into the handle, it is seemingly a large disadvantage. 1.5" ? Where are you getting your numbers for measurements? I have all of the aforementioned rods and in reality it's a...

Re: JDM Jig rods
Yes I do have some suggestions. Jig rods more sensitive than 893C NRX? Sensitivity is subjective but here are a few that I have that in my opinion are more sensitive. BTW I still have an NRX893C but these JDM options are excellent if you want to shell out the BIG BUCKS: 1). Daiwa Steez Racing Design...

Re: High end spinning reels...Am I doing it wrong?
I never fill a Daiwa as full as a Shimano. I've learned that Daiwas just dont take as well to over-filling as Shimano reels. It's due to the reverse-taper spools, I think. However, its always seemed to me that, if not overly full, they cast very well compared to similar-size and similar quality Shi...

Re: NRX 854 or Steez Bottom Contact
I have used all rods you have mentioned and I will say hands down get the bottom contact 2. It’s a big improvement over the 1st gen model and is faster in action from my experience with it. The NRX 854C isn’t in the same league as the BC2 - considerably less power and less sensitivity IMO. If you lo...

Re: 2021 steez ags rods
I have the new 7'1'' finesse spinning and i love that rod. It's been fantastic the past couple months on the water for big lake erie smallies, and this rod does any style of drop shotting really well: dragging, drop swim, vertical, etc. I am fortunate to have the older blue AGS 7' ML as well for com...

Re: Recommend a new finesse spinning rod
I would take a hard look at the new Steez AGS 71ML. I got this one recently and absolutely love it for the techniques you describe. I also have the 76MML but if you’re looking for something shorter the 71ML is amazing. I was out last weekend smallmouth fishing and the 71ML can handle the big ones no...

Re: 2021 steez ags rods
I couldn't resist, and Gary had one in stock... so now I have two 761MML, a blue and a red one. Haven't been able to fish it yet, but handling it, I like it: lighter than the last one, I like the guide arrangement better (the stripper guide is higher up the blank and thus smaller, the guide before ...

Re: Nrx+ 872 vs steez 76mml
Want the short answer? Get both 8-) I have both and there IS some crossover between the 76MML and the NRX 872S, but the tip is a little softer on the 76MML. If you’re looking to drive hooks a little harder the 872S will do it better IMO. I use the 872S for Neds 3/16 and up, finesse swim baits, tubes...

Re: Zillion sv TW 1000
Where was all this talk when guys like Bronzefly has been singing praises for the Daiwa Aluminum? Haha I lurk on here quite a bit and this is news to me. I will say, I will never buy another Daiwa that has an asterisk next to the part number for gear sets. That is what required I send my Morethan b...

Re: Steez Racing Design 701MH / HXB-ST
Just looking to resurrect this post. I'm looking to acquire a hustler finesse tune, and wondering how the guys who have used them for a while now like them? Is it the real deal for texas rigs? Has the rod performed up to it's price, delivering durability, sensitivity and the right taper for the job...

1T. Spool the reel and retrieve it all in one handle turn.

Re: Steez A vs. Morethan
I have both and prefer the morethan a little more due to the longer handle, better knobs, and metal drag star. I also love the black on gold color scheme.
I have both the 7.1 and 8.6 and they are sweet indeed. No complaints at all.

Exist LT for sure.
Close second would be a Certate LT, at a much lower cost.
Both are incredible reels.
