I might not be able to help you to decide what you like but I am happy with my NRX804.
I tested my NRX804 on barra's pond with Daiwa Ryoga 1016h, You might wanna take a look on this.

Re: One braid to rule them all?
I am having a hard time finding a reliable 20lb braid and under, but I am happy with the blue Varivas Casting PE (28lb).
Hope it helps.

I really like to have one of those but after knowing they are good without heavy shock leader and it makes me think twice

Any RCS carbon handle that will fit Shimano....
Dear All, I am thinking of changing my Shimano Scorpion 1001XT to carbon handle and since the RCS is pretty easy to get here in my area and that is the only choice I have. Any inputs which model of RCS carbon handle that will fit the scorpion 1001xt is much appreciated. Thank you all in advance, Wir...

3/8oz is good even with original spool but of course with 1012 will be better.

Agree of it depends how you define finesse. And Oh don't say jighead weight. Some people just used to claim they could cast down to 1/16oz or even 1/32oz but without stating that's only jighead weight, which tends to be misleading.
