Re: How's this match?
How lucky I am to not be infected to the same degree as others. It is my plan to avoid high end Daiwa reels to keep myself sane. For now I'll stick to Shimano Curados and Chronarchs. Sounds like a good setup.

Re: Has Shimano stolen Daiwa's crown?
I'm with Boone. Shimano reels to me represent dependability. I think of them as the work truck that starts day after day. It always works and is completely reliable. Daiwa's are more for the enthusiast. They are like the sports cars of reels, where part of the fun is having a flashy reel that you ca...

Re: St. croix crankin rods
Some people might not agee with me, but in my opinion the St. Croix Tournament Rods are better rods than G.Loomis technique specific rods in the same price range; Crankbait and Spinnerbait series. The St. Croix's are just as light, powerful, and a little more sensitive. I currently have 3 St. Croix ...

Re: Need a better dropshot/worming rod
I use a Lamiglas XMG50 7'2 Light action for drposhotting. I absolutely love it. I think tacklewarehouse.com still has some of the 6'6 Light actions left. The run 159.99 on sale right now.

I owe you an apology as well. I was short with you. I was at work at last night when I wrote it and if you hate your job as much as I do, then you know how frustrated you can be while there. Again, I apologize for my comments.

I also use Suffix Siege for spinnerbaits. It is a great line and it is better than either Trilene XL or XT.

Re: Greatest Marketing Ploy Ever?
The best ploy has to be convincing millions that a Luck Craft lures are worth the money. Sure they look great. Sure they have great componets. But I can catch just a many fish on a beat up $5 dollar crankbait as you can on a $20 lucky craft.

Re: Best Use For A Scorpion
Well, mostly I curious about what people use theirs for. Sorry REEL OLD GUY. I guess I think some tools are better for certain jobs than others. I love my Curado200DHSV for buzzbaits and frogs, but I wouldn't dream of trying to drag a DD22 across the bottom with one. I realize that the Scorpion is s...

Re: American Rodsmiths
If you are looking for spinnerbait rods, give the St. Croix Tournament Bass Rods a look. Theh have two medels designed for spinnerbaiting. The one is 6'3 Medium called the Sniper Spinnerbait. It is a great rod. I caught a five pound bass a couple of days ago and it handled it effortlessly. It is gre...

I love Suffix Elite 8lb. It is actually stronger than 8lb and it handles well.

Re: what's everyone's most productive lure?
The one that is always on me are a 1/8 ounce Strike King Mini Buzz in black. It works wonders for around weeds. I spent the sumer perfecting my buzzbait strategy and this one out caught all the others combined. My second choice, just a smidge behind is a Bandit Footloose in Baby Bass. It's tough to ...

Best Use For A Scorpion
I picked up a Shimano Scorpion last week mainly because I am a compulsive shopper. I was wondering what techniques it is best suited for. I already have a Powell 683 that I use for worms. I thought about just getting the medium version of the Powell and putting the Scorpion on it and using it light ...
