Re: choice for MD Crankbait
I've never used it for cranking, but Seaguar Invizx is one of the softer fluorocarbon lines around, and it is small diameter also (same diameters as Sunline products I think). I plan to use it for cranking myself when I buy a cranking rod later this year.

Re: Is there something wrong with this?
My G.Loomis GLX Trout Series rod has a spot very similar to that, and it hasn't given me any problems yet after several months of regular use. And I've caught several black crappie over 2lbs., bass up to 3lbs., and surprise catfish up to 9lbs. on it, so that part of the blank has been thoroughly str...

Re: YGK Nitlon Darm Fluorocarbon???
I'm interested too. The only thing I'm not so sure about right now is that the diameter seems to be bigger than the standard for Japanese manufacturers. Unless it is especially good in some particular aspect, I'm going to stick with Seaguar for now.

Re: Cumulus 6'10" ...
I have a Core 50 on mine spooled with 12lb. Seaguar Invizx, and it's the first rod I reach for on almost every fishing trip. I use mine for shakey heads, small to medium sized T-rigged plastics, jerkbaits, and shallow running cranks. It's a very versatile rod, and one of my all time favorites.

Roboworm 6" Straight Tail and FAT Straight tail, and RI Flirt 4.95 when I want something a little smaller. The spots around here seem to prefer the Flirt, while the largemouth like the Roboworms more.

Well all of these reviews for them helped push me to finally order my first JDM casting reel from them. Ordered a used Airy Red Pixy.

I'm hoping for a new Sustain considering that the Twinpower was updated this year.

Re: fetha styx rods?
I had personally never heard of them until reading your post, but after looking at their website, I'm not so sure I'd go with one. The price seems a bit steep considering the kind of graphite and components used. I'm not trying to bash a brand of rods that I have zero personal experience with; they ...

Re: Deep UL baits
Ok sorry to double post, but I just re-read the first post and noticed that the Megabass Live-X Smolt was mentioned. So Katron, can you describe the overall action of the bait? Does it dive quickly? And does it have a tight or wide wobble? I've been looking for alternatives to the Yo-Zuri Hardcore S...

Re: Inexpensive 2 piece 5' rod?
I fully support the idea of getting a G.Loomis (especially a TSR, mine is possibly my favorite rod), but just to throw another option out there, you could look at the Phenix ultralight rods also. I don't personally have any experience with their ultralights, but I have a Ultra MBX dropshot rod and m...

I agree with slipperybob. Yo-Zuri Hybrid seems to perform the same in smoke and clear from my experience.

Re: Deep UL baits
I mostly use small jigs for ultralight fishing in deeper water, or pretty much anywhere really. Back in December I was throwing Bobby Garland 2" Baby Shad on 1/32oz jigheads next to rock bluffs and was catching fish anywhere between 5ft and 25ft deep. Getting to the deeper ones with that setup takes...

Re: Cumulus, don't hear much about them.
I've got the 6'10" with a Core 50 on it and I am absolutely in love with it. When I picked one up in Bass Pro and tested the tip, it definitely felt softer than a MH to me. But after using mine for a while, I'm definitely convinced that it has plenty of power for a MH rated rod along with fantastic ...

Re: My new Ultralight Rod - TSR791
I bought my TSR801-2 GLX last year based on posts made by Ranger 619VS/Brian, and I've been about as happy as possible with mine. I put a Stradic Ci4 1000 on mine as well, and the combo is very slightly tip heavy just like TroutStlkr said, but I really don't even notice it at all when I'm actually f...

Re: Reel for Legend Elite
Is the Elite SC4 or 5? I am used to buying based on those numbers as they are blanks. I have a Steez on my SC5 I believe both the Elite and the Extreme are SC4 in the upper section of the blank with SC5 used in the lower part of the blank. Most folks call them SC5. Just for the sake of correctness,...
