Re: Cumara for jerkbaits

Correct, personally I would go with a medium action or mediumfast at least for topwater/jerkbaits but to each their own.

Re: Kids tackle

A child is never too young to fish. Give them the bug early and they will be hooked for life. I have 5 children and 10 grandchildren and they all like to fish. I have a 10 year old grandson that lives with me that fishing is his total passion. He eats breathes and sleeps fishing. Heck, he has more ...

Great Lakes Vanishing

Even though our Bass are getting bigger and bigger there's plenty of other species we were once known for dieing away. Not only what you see in this video is evident in the Great Lakes but even in inland lakes and small ponds such as the one in my backyard. Ill take pics and post the waterline where...

Re: Flick Shake Technique

You basically take a round shakey head jig head and wacky rig a worm. I prefer thinner profile longer worms but to each there own. Cast out and let it fall . Once it hits the bottom pull back a little bit or jerk it a few times lightly but all your strikes will come on the fall just about everytime....

Re: 23lb Mirror Carp Christens New Rod

Wow.. what a pig.

I have had sightings from neighboors of a giant carp thats looks gold in my pond out back but havent seen carp in this water before. I want to catch her and release her somewhere else to get her out a Bass/Pike dominated pond. Someone released her here.

Re: My first JDM...

Uh-oh! I smell the monkey... yeah.. trouble is, that rod will only lead to another reel because you'll find the Scorp Mg is abit underpowered for what you'll end up throwing with that stick... if you're looking Megabass to go with that reel, I'd recommend sticking with something in about an F4 or b...

Re: Need Help: Calling all Crankbait Addicts .

Rapala DT4? A top producer of mine. Only problem- it has a wide wobble. I need a tight. I know you said save slim bodied but...that is the easiest question to answer in the world of fishing....Original Rapala and Jointed Rapala...Gold.....no fish can resist :) ....you just gotta' learn how to use t...

Re: Need Help: Calling all Crankbait Addicts .

When I say full bodied crank I mean cranks that arent pancaked like lipless cranks and that arent getting their tight wiggle from a thinner body. I need full body cranks with a tight wobble because the Bass are absolutely inhaleing them in my area right now. They have gone through nearly all my Pean...

Re: Need Help: Calling all Crankbait Addicts .

I dont know why but I never had any success with the Shad Rap. I forgot about the Speed Traps I know those are classic. JDM options are deffinately welcome. The Moonsault series from LC I never got into because when I heard they werent making them anymore but this was awhile ago. Right now the Bombe...

Re: JDM topwater rod

You shouldnt need to a rod that throws an ounce when throwing the baits you mentioned. I recommend the Megabass Evoluzion F4-65XDti Cyclone Evo. I love my Torpedos as well but unlike you have a taste for longer rods so I went with the Elseil. I think just about every hardcore enthusiast on here has ...
