Probably means it will be replaced by the Exsence CI4+ or something new entirely. Can't imagine them leaving the lightweight market. Probably just want to separate it from the Stradic name.shimanogloomis man wrote: ↑Sun Jun 21, 2020 8:50 amUnfortunately I heard from a reliable source there getting rid of the ci4

Re: Abu Garcia 2021 catalog already
Not sure what is different at Daiwa, and I haven't sold my soul to any corporation yet. I got pof'ed at Abu's slipping drag on spinning reels lately and got 2 Daiwa Tatula 2500. I am underly impressed with those 2 reel's drag. From what I heard Abu solved their drag issues so that is an open option...

Re: Why doesn't Daiwa & Shimano Cerakote their reels?
Cost. Frames would have to be completely disassembled and sandblasted for the coating to adhere. Plus, Elite and H both require oven cures. Coating C can be air cured. Could possibly assemble carefully after 24 hours, but it actually takes 5 days to fully cure. Just not feasible for mass production.

Re: Expense and Certate LT
Haven't used the Exsence, but if the body is the same as the Stradic, then I prefer the Certate LT as well (not counting performance). The Certate is super smooth as well and it feels like it always has power in reserve. Hard to explain, but I feel like I could winch a jeep out of the mud with it an...

Re: Stradic CI4+ on clearnce...new model coming?
I think they should do away with the CI4+ and redo the Sustain with a CI4+ frame and all the FL upgrades, plus magnumlite rotor. Put it between the Stradic FL and Twinpower, since the Sustain is currently the redheaded stepchild.

Re: 20 Shimano Exsence DC SS
There's another Exsence DC from a couple years ago that has the 4x8 DC system. It's like $550 though. The SS is the dumbed down version, though I'm sure it's a fine reel. I think it's like the BB, CI4+, and magnesium Exsence spinning reels, even though all have the same Exsence name.

Re: Shimano Stradic FL (Smootheness)?
I don't know why they didn't put the magnumlite rotor on the Stradic. Would have helped the startup inertia. Suppose they didn't want to make the Sustain completely irrelevant, only mostly irrelevant.

Re: Shimano Stradic FL (Smootheness)?
I bought two this spring. One was smooth, one was meh. I think it was a lube issue more than a reel issue.

Re: What's the best all around baitcaster??
Best all around is probably the Bantam MGL or Steez A, in my opinion. Best in the price range the reels you mentioned, the Coastal SV TW or Tatula elite(I like both way more than the Tatula SV) or the Curado DC.

Re: Refreshed 13 concept reels
I thought the first generation fished well, but I couldn't palm them comfortably with the sharp edge on the palming sideplate. Doesn't look like that has changed. It's a no from me.

Re: Is Daiwa becoming a Tatula???
The going rate for used SV103s is insane if you can even find them for sale. I wish I would have picked one up when I could have gotten them new. I have not bought a new Daiwa casting reel since I picked up a good many sv103's when they where on close out. Probably pick up enough to last the rest o...

Re: Is Daiwa becoming a Tatula???
Daiwa needs to: Broaden itself a bit more from 100 variantions of Tatula Add more color, limited release reels and have MB variants Keep at least 2 reel platforms that utilize the 34mm spools. They can have one be aluminum and one be magnesium. The frames, ratios and appearance they can do as they ...

Re: Zolo Toadface?
I first seen the new enox at the Richmond VA fishing show and was very impressed. My good friend wanted the best chatterbait rod and took my advice and bought the bmj. Its really a nice build. He, my brother and I (all high end gear junkies) are all very impressed by the looks and how it fished. I ...

Re: 2020 Shimano Twin Power FD
I had trouble finding a super smooth Stradic FL as well. Though, I did finally settle on one. Not before ordering a Certate LT though as I was kind of fed up with the Stradics. The Certate doesn't have the lightest startup rotation I've felt, but it feels incredibly smooth. I don't know if it's the ...
