Makes no real difference to me, compared to the typical knob. I still loosen it just a hair, then leave it alone until the end of time. Same as any other Daiwa.

Not saying I would or wouldn't jerk off to a rod, but I've yet to see one that attractive. To each their own though. This is a judgement free zone.

Don't know if they're overrated, but the ones that left me the most disappointed based on performance for the money, were St Croix Avid, Loomis IMX Pro and E6X, Dobyns Champion and Champion Extreme, Shimano Curado. All good rods, but offered very little considering the price tags.

Off the shelf you get what they want, custom you get what you want.

The blanks are already dang near perfect. They could just get like 3 relatively intelligent fishermen in a room to design a new handle and color scheme in a few hours. Voila, new model. Just improving the build quality would almost be enough to call it a new rod.

I wish they'd do away with the F generation names for the Vanford. Shimano Vanford the Third would sound great in 2027.

They have some cool names like Stella or Vanquish...then they come out with Vanford...there has to be a story behind it that has yet to be told. Sounds like a word someone would try to use in scrabble.

I've bought a Metanium, Alphas CT SV, and a Scorpion DC from them just in the past couple months. All of them arrived quickly in perfect shape.

Negligible amount. Just ends up being one more thing to maintain.
