Re: Got my new boat this week!
Nice boat, i wish i could have one....but need a place at home, maybe should change my house Funny you should say that......I had to extensively modify the back of my garage by making a large nook in the wall that extends into empty space over an interior stairway as a place for the motor so I coul...

Got my new boat this week!
:D Hey guys, Just wanted to show my new toy! Been saving my pennies for a couple years and I'm pretty pumped! I took my 2009 Lund 1710 Predator SS to the dealer last week and traded for the 2013 1875 Pro V seen below. Took it out and did the initial two hour break-in on my way home. I can't even beg...

Re: Swimbait rod - brand and model?
I've used a Loomis SWBR904C for several years and am very happy with it. I don't throw anything over 8" long and this rod is perfect for baits the size of a 6" Hudd or Spro BBZ Jr. It also has a moderate action more like a big crankbait rod and less like a flipping stick which I like. Some find its ...

Re: NRX 852S as Drop Shot Rod
Thanks all for the info. Looks like I'll be selling the Steez 701. Matt - what are the other 2 DS rigs and how do they differ. Thanks again Croix LE 7' light with a Stella 1000 and 5lb powerpo with about 10' of 6lb flouro for light work. Cumara 6' 8" ml with stradic CI4 1000 and 8lb Nanofil with ab...

Re: NRX 852S as Drop Shot Rod
I've used an 852s for DS the past two years and it has been everything I could have wanted. I carry three DS rods rigged (my favorite technique) and the 852s is the one I reach for in deeper water or when I will need to control a hooked fish to avoid snags. Awesome sensitivity as expected with an nr...

Re: How low can you go...with an 893NRX??
To me it depends mostly on the reel and its capabilities. The rod (nrx893) will load the tip with about anything and then its up to the reel to keep its end of the bargain. It will certainly cast lures around 1/4oz without issue. I've had a Pixy68, Core50, Ryoga with 1012 spool, and a Zillion on min...

Re: UL premium finesse rod recommendations.
I know its not "technically" a UL rod, but the NRX 802C has a very light top half and performs extremely well with tiny baits. I rotate a JDM PX68 and a Conquest 51S on mine and have no trouble (especially with the 51S) with baits around 1/16 oz. The rod will certainly fish lighter than the LTB you ...

I am eagerly awaiting your findings........I've been debating purchasing that very rod for a few months, but want some real world reports!Tokugawa wrote:I'll let you know how an FX-711X4 does for big football head jigs after next weekend.

Couple more..... http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b36/flntknp17/Untitled-4.jpg Thumb bar broke on my Calcutta TE 200DC so I had to use my spinnerbait rod for deep cranking  http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b36/flntknp17/2012-06-1595160447.jpg http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b36/flntknp17/2...

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
Some pics from a trip yesterday with another TT member (Good351). Not huge numbers of fish, but the quality was fantastic. I even scored a surprise muskie on a 6XD.....just crushed it after I rolled the bait over a log in 16' of water. http://i16.photobucket.com/albums/b36/flntknp17/2012-08-03122245...

Re: Recent Purchase Thread
Well, I figured that the Japanese economy wasn't the only one that needed a little stimulation, so I helped ours out as well yesterday. Bought a new grocery getter. I wanted one of these since I saw the first pictures from car shows last year :D . Its a 2013 Ford Escape SEL. Drove 300 miles to get e...

Awesesome!
I love it when cats hit lures! I catch one about every time I go to some of my favorite lakes, normally on cranks, but sometimes on dropshot or spinnerbaits. Fun stuff!

Received a small care package from Japan yesterday! The quality of not only the baits, but the packaging is stunning and I am blown away every time I order.

Re: Lexa 100 and Lexa Spinning
Love my Curado 300DSV for muskies, but overall I like the casting of Daiwa better so I am going to try a Lexa 300 for sure when they come out. I like the power handle option and the higher gear ratio. It will be interesting to compare it to a Curado 300 since the Lexa is ~$100 less MSRP.
