Re: best rod for?

I don’t understand all the 7'+ love I see on here. I am 6'4" and I much prefer shorter rods. How do you keep your tip out of the water? Where is your elbow and shoulder positioned when making these cast? I've watched shorter guys frog and skip with long rods and it looks uncomfortable and akward. I...

Re: Megabass & the battle for BEST bottom contact rod

I believe a traded for the P5 X-Bites replacement that was reported snapped on this forum. Phenomenal rod, sensitivity is subjective but IMO up there with the king NRX893. Compared to my FMJ, lighter obviously, better balance and more crisp(lively) in hands. And yes sensitivity is next tier without...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

I ended up buying 5 and it could easily be more if I find buyers for the Exprides, Conquest 844c MBR and GLX 893 Spinning I have for sale. Firstly, these rods are a work of art and super comfy to fish. I’m trying out Kayak fishing so the shorter lengths are welcome too. I have traditionally fished ...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

The P5 Dark Sleeper seemed a popular option for folks initial purchase. If anyone has experience of this and the Conquest 844 MBR, would love to hear about the differences The X-Bites fishes like how you’d think a 7’-2” Loomis MBR blank would...the problem is, it’s fishes like a Loomis 2 power rod ...

Re: Old School GLX (pre 2012) vs. Today's Rods

I’m old but new school. I’ve had GLX’s since their inception and love the newest versions the best. They’re lighter, better balanced and I feel more sensitive. I fished my 2000 (approximate year) GLX alongside my 2016 GLX and the old one felt like a dinosaur. Too many old guys put relevance and reve...

Re: G. Loomis GLX 782C MBR for jerkbaits

782 will work fine for 110’s but for around the same money (if you shop right) I would get the new Megabass P5 OneTen P4 6-5. I personally love the 6-5 length of my Steez 6-5ML Fle-X lite for jerks, way better than my GLX 783 but the 783 is the back up jerk rod and works fine for them

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

Oh boy, here we go again...I swung a 2lbdr in the boat with my X-Bites-the-dust and it snapped right in the middle of the wrap on the 6th guide from the tip

Re: What spinning reels do Lew's pro staffers really use ?

In last weeks BPT event in Sturgeon Bay Wi, Jeff Sprague who is a Lew’s Pro was throwing his drop shot on a GLX DSR with what appeared to be a Shimano Exsence reel but not 100% on the reel. Definitely a GLX DSR though and not a Lew’s spinning reel

How do you guys like the seat on the spinning models? Comfy or awkward?

How's the balance of the X-bites with the met???
On the lock nut. For a 7-2 5.5 power it’s pretty damn good. Definitely Floats. Btw my Met is JDM and weighs in at 6.1oz.

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

ACK! Micro guides! I should have asked before buying, stupid me. Didn’t read anything anywhere that these had micros. My X-Bites and Landsat came in yesterday and I’m impressed as hell with everything about them other than the guides. The Landsat has no problems with 15lb braid to 8lb flouro and 40l...

Re: Frog and Punch rod suggestions

This is what you’re asking for and it comes from the editors of Tackle Tour. Although my personal preference is for a shorter frog rod in the 7’ range, if I wanted a rod to handle both duties this would be my first choice and be damn with the color scheme 😁 http://tackletour.com/reviewdaiwatatulaeli...

Re: Daiwa rebillion rods?

If anyone who has bought one could post their thoughts. I’d really appreciate it. I have a hole in my line-up for a 7-2 to 7-4MH and am considering the 7-3. Thank you!

My question is: for a general purpose reel, is the steez A TW actually worth the dough?
Yes. Even if you do not plan on swapping spools, it’s worth it. I have several Tat SV’s and had a Curado K and my Steez A is a much better reel than either of those
