Re: Megabass levante
A lot of nice changes were made to the new Levante this year. I definitely think it was more of an improvement than the xx revamp, and at least these don’t look just like the xxx rods. I really dig the locking nut on the reel seat on the new rods.

Re: Steez hyper Cast spool
It’s really not an improvement over a stock steez 100 spool. It’s also designed for lures 1/2oz +
As Adam already mentioned... adding the hlc spring to a stock steez spool will give you basically the same result.

Re: What reel for frogging on a MB perfect pitch?
The SV103 with Zillion 50th 7.3 gears is my new jam. I feel the 7.3s have ever so slightly more power, slightly slower, but seem much more durable. I replaced 2 sets of 7.9s for getting rough after two seasons. The 7.3 I have is well seasoned and still smooth as glass. I just put 7.3 gears into my ...

Re: What reel for frogging on a MB perfect pitch?
SV103 (non steez) in the 7:9:1 ratio or if a 6:3:1 is a good enough deal you can spend $30 and swap a faster set of gears into it. Built like a tank and balances out very well on the xx perfect pitch. I have no issues with casting distance using sv spools. I’m not sure why a lot of people think the...

Re: Daiwa Zillion Type R drag star on TDZ
There’s a flat washer that’s under the stock star that goes on top of the drag spring washers. You can add 1 more of the flat washers to gain a little clearance between the two parts.

Re: Monoblock - Why?
I had a Grigio Titanio with Pxr 6.8 gears and the Rcs 1012SV spool in it which required a Steez pinion shaft. That spool is a performer in other reels of mine and it was no different in the block. I could cast anything I tried in the 5-11g range.

Re: Spool System
I just tend to remember what’s in what reel 9/10 times. Some are dead giveaway’s like my Zpi spools, and others I know by color or what the reel is. I know my Alphas sv and Zonda 68 both have the same spool. The SV103’s have the same spools also but in different colors. I guess because I use certain...

Re: High quality oil, lube, etc
You have a bunch of good options available for this task. For me I go by this... Gears - grease Worm gear - grease Frame bearings - grease Spool bearings - oil I use Abu silicote or Daiwa blue grease and Zpi F-0 oil, or Daiwa bearing oil if I’m out of the other. There’s also Shimano grease and Cal’s...
