Big-Bass wrote:Where did you hear Zona is a Daiwa guy now?

Zona's FB page. His boat is sporting a D on the deck and had the Tatula Elites on the deck. In the comments he said he was with Daiwa now since he was going in a different drection than Shimano/Loomis.

Re: Daiwa ICAST 2017 (2018 products)

Not a reel per say but Daiwa is now the rod and reel sponsor of Mark Zona.

Re: 13 Fishing Concept Z

It is reported that it can handle lures down to an 1/8th of an ounce and cost should be around $200.00. Left handed models are supposed to be released too. as for the noise could it be braid running through the line guide we hear vs actual bearing noise?

New Concept Z

13 is introducing a new Concept baitcaster at ICast. The Concept Z, it has 0 ball bearings, will be able to handle down to an 1/8th of an oz lure, and according to Brandon Coulter will add distance to the cast. I guess the Z stands for Zero bearing and noise. Can't wait to see it.

Re: Fuego CT Spool Size

The spool dia. Is 34mm. I am unsure if any other spool will interchange (possibly the Tatula CT and CT Type R since they are based off the same frame).

Re: Combat Stick

The camo grips remind me of Daiwa AU's Commander series and sure beats the old grey and black "wood grain" grips of the 90's. Reel seat, not a big fan of but I think a little modding could remedy the issues I have with them.

Re: "fun factor" fishing set up.

As for pure fun factor, I would pick my Grey's 3wt with an Echo Solo 2/3. For my conventional setup my "BFS" Daiwa Fuego and my 13 Gen 1 Omen 6'10" ML casting rod.
