Re: Any rods beat out the kistler klx for the money?

Agree with timsford. The 13 Envy rods, spinning or casting, are at the top of that price point. The blanks are incredibly crisp and responsive. The casting rods have Rec guides though, so if that's not your thing, you won't like 'em.

If those taste anything like our yellow perch, and they ever made it into the Great Lakes, no one would fish for walleyes any more!! Imagine a limit of 18"ers, lol.

Re: Dedicated Senko fishing rod

Guys, now we are getting way too specific. I based my initial reply thinking the OP was asking about weightless T-rigged senkos in situations except heavy grass cover (mat) like BigG mentions. No one rod can cover every situation for a Senko - as I mentioned I use two rods for what I typically fish,...

Re: Dedicated Senko fishing rod

Really, senko fishing is a very simple technique and doesn't require excessive amounts of thought into which rod to use. I find the line selection is more important - I only will use a quality FC line. Agree with jpmoney. I concur that a high quality fluorocarbon line is the most important componen...

Re: Envy Finesse spinning rods

Thanks Max. I actually have that exact rod, 7'1" L Omen. I agree, it rocks but I need something with a bit more 'oompf' to it. Was just curious how this series of Envys was for finesse. Maybe I'll take a look at the Aussie versions too.

Envy Finesse spinning rods

Does anyone have 13 Fishing's Envy 'Finesse' spinning rods? They make a 6'10" and 7'2" version, both ML. Just curious as to your opinions and how they might compare to Dobyns/Loomis/St Croix etc. ML spinning rods for finesse stuff. I'm looking to upgrade from a Crucial DS rod but am not going to dro...

Re: Forget NRX or K2..Your favorite 'classic' rod?

Have to agree the Loomis IMX or GLX with Weibe reel seats were the best bass rods ever made. Fenwick Techna AV with SiC guides (and made is USA!) are a very close second.

Re: Enigma Rods

I have never seen an Enigma rod nor touched one in person, let alone fished with one. Same goes for any Megabass rod. But I have been following with great interest the feedback from many who have fished both and smile because it reinforces a very wise decision I made to rethink my tackle buying habi...

Re: St. Croix Legend Elite 6'10"MLXF spinning

I'm late to this party but want to chime in since I have a Legend Extreme 70MLF. It's a couple gens older, with cork split grip and recoil guides but my opinion is the MLF version is better for DS. As reference, I've used a MXF Crucial and Dobyns DX702 and 701. I dropshot a ton for smallies on St Cl...

Re: Dobyns Champion Extreme HP video = new DX rods

Oops, my bad. I got too excited and thought you had a casting version of the 741 HP instead of the spin rod. Oh well, maybe Gary will stay on the cutting edge and make a 741C HP!

Re: Dobyns Champion Extreme HP video = new DX rods

Thanks for sharing that info TobyJ. I too fish ultraclear water (and cold air temps) here in Michigan. I love my DX701SF for 5 and 6 lb. Sniper and what I call ultrafinesse stuff. Based on your comments I am 99% sure I'll pop for a DX741C and a reel like the Pixy and basically get rid of all but one...

Re: Help me decide rod for 1/16 + minnow grub

Max,
I contacted 13 and they assured me they will be producing a Gen 3 L spinning rod. Reid thought it would be some time around December so that is very good news!
