Re: SV105P

It took every ounce of my self control not to buy a pair of them myself, that sale was insane.

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

TW lists the handle difference as only being 1/2". Is the difference greater than that in hand/real world? Huh, I didn't hold them side by side but the handle flet a good bit shorter, I would have guessed closer to 1.5". I have got a big hangup about long handles though, so it is likely that I just...

Re: Shimano Loomis Conquest rods

I love my new 783C so far. Great handling rod. I have a GLX 783c and while I do like it, handling the Conquest version has made me thing about selling it at a loss and buying the Conquest version. Mostly due to the shorter handle, but also because the Conquest felt....it sounds dumb to type it, but...

Re: Feeling Slanty

They represent the true nature of enthusiast rods, there's just something about OG MB rods that you can't help but to appreciate and love, the rarity alone makes them a pleasure to own. They are definitely something! When I started reading about JDM tackle I was going years and years back looking a...

Re: Affordable bfs rods???

I don't know, I found a ML GoEmotion for right around $120 a year or three ago. If the OP isn't in a hurry deals come up here from time to time. I will also add, OP, if I were you I would save up and get the Phenix. The Recon2 version is a great all-around BFS rod and I don't have a single reasonabl...

Damn, I thought I had heard that and had one in my cart during the last ebay 20% deal but I couldn't find the posts again and though I was remembering wrong.

Re: Affordable bfs rods???

What's affordable to you? $50, $100, $150??? Like 120 tops. At this moment is all I can afford. A Phenix PHX-C682 will run you ~$180, but the older Recon 2 version that I have is a solid bfs rod. Phenix has some really nice rods but a bit expensive. I've seen some people use the phenix maxim but I'...

I have an Altoids tin that I glued a small piece of closed cell foam into, it works great to store small inline spinners and other tiny hard baits.

Re: New Loomis GLX rods creak when you shake them?

You know, I never really thought about it but I bought a new GLX this past October and I swear it made a little creaking noises the first few times I had it out. I had attributed it to the cold weather and the rather crusty florocarbon I had spooled up. I haven't noticed it in months, so whatever it...

Re: Loomis Noob, looking for GLX help

I have a 783mbr and other than the handle being about 2 or 3 inches longer that I want to be, I have no complaints with it. I also just picked up an avid 62M/XF and was shocked at how close it felt in sensitivity to the GLX. Same real, same line, same jig, dragged across the same little stretch of b...

Re: Megabass Orochi XXX or Phenix Feather Bass

I ordered one last night, I held out as long as I could. I figured if the new XX rods use the same reel seat as the XXX, I might as well see if I like it. Real question is, will I actually sell the two rods the Black Themis is going to replace, or will I just shove them in the back of the rack "just...
