Re: For those in the know, unlike me.

When you are saying it is getting polished, where are you talking about.
This is an old article... but it will give you an idea.

Brett Hite Chatter Bait Trailer

I was over at a friends house and he had Brett Hite on the tube fishing a chatter bait with a black blade on it. I assume it was the new Elite chatter bait. He had a swimbait on it for a trailer. Does anyone know what it was?

Re: Grrr... Curado I Question

Well let me give you my definition of IPT. It is how many inches of line per one revolution of the handle the reel takes up. Maybe Cal, Zander, or Jip could help us out. If it is the revolution of the spool only, then you would be correct. Slower reels are also designed to keep your bait in the stri...

Re: Grrr... Curado I Question

If your handle is 10000mm or 10mm, one turn of the handle will always bring in the same IPT regardless of the handle. The speed in which you can rotate the handle decreases as the handle gets longer, but you gain more leverage on the shaft with the longer handle providing more "power". Again, physi...

Re: Grrr... Curado I Question

I throw large crankbaits with the Curado I. I really love the reel. It works beautifully. I don't know why folks feel that they need a 5:1 reel or slower to throw crankbaits. If you really want to wear yourself out, throw your crankbaits on one of the old Lews BB1 or BB1NG 4.8:1 reels. You will wind...

Re: Old Poe's crankbaits, what do I have here?

The baits really aren't worth much except possibly to a collector. Vinnie has the depths correct for the different models. Hank Parker originally went out to Calif. and found these baits being made in a garage. He brought some back to N.C. and the Carolina Crankers got a hold of them. The rest is hi...

Re: bb1 vs curado e5

I bought a Lew BB1 Pro. When I got it home and took it out of the box I noticed that the left side plate moved under my hand while palming it on the rod. Boxed it up and took it back. Got the new Curado. Better construction, much smoother, great casting and much happier. I had the same problem with ...

since I lack the skill for the fancy inlay thread work, I make up for it with sparkly thread to distract you…hope it works!
It worked ! Excellent job. Beautiful rod.

Re: Out barb hooks

The only problem with katsuage hooks is that they bend easily. Even when catching smaller fish on the 110 the hooks bent. The wire in these hooks are just to thin in my opinion. Smalljaw....how do you know that VMC makes these hooks? Daiichi Death Trap Round Trebles are really nice hooks. I have cli...

Re: Out barb hooks

Thanks for the reply guys.

The hooks are plenty strong enough for bass fishing. They look really cool on a crankbait.
