Re: Helium 3 or Dobyns DX

Thanks everyone. I'll probably hold off and see if I can't pick up a z bone or nrx in that case. Didn't think about sales or rep samples, don't mind spending a bit more for a lot more rod. Still want to try out the new DX HP, so hopefully I won't get to impatient.

Re: Alphas Air Inductor

Thanks Teal, might have to pick up an SV 105 now. Noticed the air is almost set it and forget it compared to the px68. Closest thing to a backlash I've had is a loose coil

Alphas Air Inductor

Hey everyone, Just got a new alphas air, I noticed the inductor operates differently compared to the px68. It twists out to a degree compared to the pixy which pushes straight out, is that comparable to how the SV spool inductor operates? Sorry, not exactly sure how to phrase that. I'm a Daiwa newbi...

Helium 3 or Dobyns DX

Hello everyone, Somewhat new here, looking for a new rod for my Curado 51e. Main application will be drop shot and shaky heads 3/16th to 1/4oz give or take. Mostly open water on Lake Cumberland/Dale Hollow, so I could probably get away with a longer rod if anyone has any recommendations. Already own...

Re: Got my new BFS combo today!

Zodiac, if you're targeting 1/16 through 1/8 I'd go with the UL since that would be in the sweet spot. I don't have experience with the rod in question, so take it with a grain of salt, just have experience with the Jackson BFS rods \:D/ . Just wanted to ask those that have them how the reel seat fe...

Re: Finesse casting rod

Check out the Jackson rods in either the Bastard or Super Trickster series, they make really nice finesse rods that can't be beat for the price. You didn't say what length your are looking for, but the 6'3 light action bastard would easily cast 1/8th, but it excels with single hook applications due ...

Nice combo! Wouldn't mind picking one of these up for a power drop shot set up. Can't wait to see your write up on how they perform.

Re: Alphas AIR + super trickster maiden voyage

That must have been an awesome fight, nice catch!! Finally got to try mine out today on the trickster. I was in awe at how easily it would fling a bitsy minnow. Definitely handles light lures noticeably better than the px68. The pixy will throw 1/16 crappie jigs, but it's more temperamental compared...

Sorry I messed up the link, wasn't sure how to post them. Anyways, skip to about 6 minutes and it shows the braking system. Looks excellent for BFS since it removes a little more weight from the spool.

Re: Upgrade Mgx or buy JDM BFS?

Good choice, you'll enjoy the px type r. Excellent little finesse reel. As for the spanner wrench for the aldebaran bfs xg, it's for the knob where the cast control is usually located. Dustys60, the 16 aldebaran bfs xg has magnetic braking only here's the link I found on here somewhere https://youtu...

Re: Alphas AIR + super trickster maiden voyage

Nice review, been waiting to see one of these. Just picked up the super trickster 6' bait finesse plugging funny from the Tackle Trap, it's awaiting a 5:8 alphas air that'll hopefully be here next week sometime. Glad to see it casts bitsy minnows well, I was curious how this reel would handle them s...

Re: Daiwa Tatula TAT6101MXB 6'10 M XF casting

It's a really nice rod for the money, and will throw everything it's rated for. If you're looking for a dedicated finesse rod on the lower side of its ratings, I'd look else where. Once you get under around 3/16 or so, you begin to loose the feeling of your lure while casting. Check out the steez me...
