Re: Custom rod blank for jigs
he has gotten back to me and i can say he is very good. There are a lot of questions he has asked that i dont have the best answer for. I have fished a lot of low end "junk" and i am better at answering what i hate, than what i really want. My experence with "quality" equipment is lacking. The most ...

Re: Custom rod blank for jigs
is there a good list out there that i can use to estimate cost. If the blank is around 200, and then the ring cost, is unknown as well. Obviously there is an upper limit, and i was looking to keep it at or around 500. I tried to use kistlers site to give me a rough guess and it spit out a number aro...

Re: Daiwa Zillion 6'3"
I just got a tda supertuned 153l and looking for a rod. I love the look of the reel seat on the zillion rods, and was considering one. I am also looking at the team lew's rods for the same reel, but info is very scarce...

Re: Bronzeback, LTB, or Team Lews
I also have a fenwick small mouth and its the 6'3" mf spinning. They are very light and ballance well. I love the rod, but its not great at hooksets for 2/0 worm hooks. When using small jigs its great, but i feel as though it might be better classified as a ML vise a true medium.

Re: Custom rod blank for jigs
I did, and he is on vacation. Looking to learn what the terms mean, and what the diffrent options are. If i spend 10 more bucks on a blank it creates a majorly better rod in the end i want to know what those options are. There are some things that are all the same, like who makes decent blanks and w...

Re: Custom rod blank for jigs
The information i found on lamiglas blanks seem to have a misprint across the entire net. The im700 784 rod is listed as 3/4-1 and i believe that it should say 3/8-1. This rod blank is very simular in price as the MHX rods at 70 dollars, but is not the magbass style of the other two i mentioned. Is ...

Custom rod blank for jigs
A question of quality not money. I have been trying to research having my first custom rod built and have been reading a lot on this forum to try and educate myself. This is in an attempt to understand some of the options that are available before i call MATTMAN. Mudhole blanks have been very well r...

Re: Rod Butt Length
everyone fishes a diffrent way, but i like shorter rods when fishing from a yak or canoe. I am a tall guy at 6'5" but still like a rod that is 6'6" or less. I do some river fishing, and the shorter rods are great for the more accurate casts, that are common in river situations. I fish with another a...
Re: Lews Rods
I was also looking at the 68 mhf rod, and have been combing the net trying to get some feedback. The specs are close to those of the rage rod, which are the two rods i am currently choosing between. I love the look of the lew's and it has a cork screwdown, which most are naked for weight reduction. ...

Re: kayak fisherman question
i guess everyones idea of of the bare minimum is very diffrent. I on most trips bring one maybe two rods but only use one. On the river i used my ugly stick lite which was recently upgraded to a fenwick small mouth. I make compromises, as its not a very good worm rod, ok for cranks and best at small...

Re: Best Fluorocarbon
i use invesx but have never used it on a bait caster. I loved the 10 pound that i used for everything. Works well for worming, and cranks. Havent tried it for jigs, but found a deal on 15 lb so that will go on next.
