I'm just saying that a 1000S will make you more than happy ^^ I have a 2016 Vanquish C2000HGS(1000 size) and that thing is the best UL spinning reel you can have right now imo.mhood wrote:Point me to the USDM Stella500 please...I missed the announcement.

Re: Spending big money on spinning reel?
may I ask what you would want a 500 sized reel for? Ice fishing? panfish? (ultra light)? No logic to it...I just want it. I have a Laguna 500 on a GLoomis 6400 IMX that I just love for crappie and panfish. I've always wanted a really top drawer 500 sized reel. A stella500 with a 1000 spool would pr...

Re: Best 100 size distance casting stock baitcaster 500$ or
Metanium MGL can really can after it. I have both, and I am a Shimano guy, but Daiwa did the new Steez reallllll right. Wow, I might have to grab one as well. Being the Shimano guy I know you are - those are strong words! I always had affinity for T wing lol. The way that line comes off the spool f...

Re: '14 Stella vs '16 Vanquish
Refinement, yes. Vanquish is a lot lighter and easier to manipulate a lure, Stella is more powerful because of the construction.

Re: Megabass vs steez vs opus spinning reel?
I would get the Steez or Exist... You already have the solid heavy reel in Stella, getting Opus would have two similar reels.

Re: Most manageable fluorocarbon?
Shooter FC Sniper. I have tried R18 Fluoro Limited (JDM Tatsu) but I like Shooter FC Sniper far better, much better smoother coating, and the 8-12 lb range is softer than R18.

Re: is the sustain the USDM twinpower model?
I have a twin power and it seemed nicer than the Sustains I have used... personally, (and this may be conspiracy theory thinking) I think Shimano sends the US lower quality product (at the same price points and product positions) then they sell in JDM. It's not conspiracy theory at all... All of US...

Re: Steez SV TW 1016SH
Doesn't IP series have finer gears than J-Dream series? It very well could. I may have mixed them up. I'm not too worried about the plastic. It can be replaced easily if needed but I'm sure its engineered really well. I would not be worried about it either. Sounds like its a really nice well built ...
