Re: Daiwa PXL-R Need Replacement
I own a PX type R, a yellow Pixy and the SV 105. I would say get the SV 105. It's great right out of the box & does an excellent job with the the type of lures you listed. If money is no object get a Steez LTD SV 105 That's awesome...I'm glad you mentioned that reel because I was actually looking a...

Re: Looking for good 2" pre-rigged swimbaits
I have Storm paddle tails often and I've found they run true. Every now and then you'll get one out of the box that needs a little tweaking but usually they seem to perform very well. They are also pretty cheap and the quality is very good for the price. Just my two cents... https://www.overstockbai...

Daiwa PXL-R Need Replacement
I've been looking high and low to purchase another PXL-R. Can't seem to find one, at least not in good condition. Any suggestions on a good substitute? I have two PXL-R and need a third and now trying to see what comparable reel can fill its shoes. I mainly use it for pitching/flipping weightless to...

Re: NRX for Skipping wacky worms - HELP NEEDED
Depending on the size of the worm, amount of cover, etc. the MBR 842 and MBR 843 in the NRX line have been excellent dock skipping rods for me. I have used the 842 for lighter presentations, and the 843 for a 5" Senko with great success. They both have the right taper and a good length for these ap...

Re: NRX for Skipping wacky worms - HELP NEEDED
My personal opinion, for weightless wacky worms, you're better off with a spinning rod. Of the three NRX spin rods I own, my first choice would be the 852s. Since you already have and want to try a shorter rod, consider the 822SYR. The 822SYR is a sleeper of a rod in my opinion. It's got the lively...

Re: Gloomis rod above NRX????!!!!!
Just curious if there are any more user experiences with these rods. How do they compare vs NRX.

Re: Spiral x technology
Bantam1, I am a NRX user. I have read the Tackle Tour review that says the new Conquest with the Spiral X technology is "on par" with the NRX in terms of sensitivity. In your opinion, is the Conquest more sensitive? Bantam1, I am a NRX user. I have read the Tackle Tour review that says the new Conq...

Re: NRX for Skipping wacky worms - HELP NEEDED
I looked at that one. I'm going to need to do more research on it. Never handled the conquest lineup but I suspect that while the length is right the tip will be to stiff for what I need. Hopefully some Conquest users can chime in...

Re: NRX for Skipping wacky worms - HELP NEEDED
It is easier to skip with a spinning rod then a baitcaster. Try a 6'8" spinning rod like a St Croix Legend Tournament Bass Wacky Style 6'8" M XF rod if a 7'1" rod is too long for you. It is easier to skip with a shaky head jig along with the worm. It also easier to skip with braid, it comes of the ...

NRX for Skipping wacky worms - HELP NEEDED
I was on the water past couple weekends trying to skip a wacky worm under docks. I was using my 852s and was struggling with my casts. Two questions, I want to transition to a casting rod for skipping weightless worms and also need to find an NRX that is shorter with a soft tip. The 852s is amazing,...

I just purchased a TDZ myself (first one for me) in pretty rough cosmetic condition, and I'm planning to do a similar restoration. What was the cost for painting the frame at Decade works?

Re: Man Caves and Tackle Rooms
I'm not sure if I want old rustic feel to go with the outdoor theme or more of a modern and sleek look. Given the tackle that will be on display both looks would be appropriate. I'll definitely add peg boards for baits and some sort of display system for reels that aren't in rotation. Decisions deci...
