Re: 2013 Certate and other new Daiwa reels

i liked the looks of the Aegis on plat, kind of looks like a jdm Ballistic with a different spool, red handle and a knob from the t3 air. i really like my ballistic, so i likely wont be buying an aegis, but it looks neat! (i do want that air knob though!) the certate looks pretty nice, and just by l...

Re: spinning reel help/info needed

the supreme is still in production, they just slightly upgraded it last year (braid ready spool, different bail wire i think) its now called the "supreme mgx" but its largely the same reel as before, and a great option at $100 the OP seems to have a WIDE range of prices in the reels mentioned, from ...

Re: searcing for a new reel

You might want to stay away from the Pflueger Patriarch. The reel will start to sound grindy after a few month of use. i have had my patriarch for 2 seasons so far, and used it extensively in those seasons, including some very cold weather fishing, with no maintenence it has been flawless, smoother...

Re: Best Tool For Cutting Braid

i use a pair of gander mountain gsx titanium pliers, they are aluminum with a replaceable tungsten line cutter. i use braid almost exclusively and these are the best cutters i have used to date. many other companies make similar pliers, usually run around $30-40, but they are worth it.

Re: Recon Spinning rod

i have the 692L recon1, have only had it about a week, but got out sunday morning for some tailwater action from shore. using a 1/16th oz jighead and 2" grub. setup cast the jig pretty well, way better than my 7' mlf legend tournament. didnt catch any 5lbers, but a couple 2-3's along with some nice ...

Re: recon vs avid and ltb

well i got the rod tuesday afternoon, and was a little disappointed to find that it was the recon 1. not a big deal as i havent seen the 2 yet, but was hopeful that it was the newest thing! heh. anyways, the rod in hand is very impressive, lighter than my legend tournaments, balance is right at the ...

Re: when is the recon2 out?

I emailed tackle warehouse and they said their pics werent updated but all they had in stock was gen 2s.. i ordered a recon yesterday, and taking advantage of their $10 overnight shipping (LOVE that btw!) i recieved it this afternoon. contrary to what they may have said in that email, at least in t...

Re: recon vs avid and ltb

recon vs avid and ltb

im looking to pick up a recon (or m1, but most likely the recon) during the black friday sale at TW, and im looking at the 691 spinning rod for jigging walleyes and smallies (both vertical and casting jigs) weights will be 1/16th to maybe 1/4, but mostly 3/32 and 1/8th with some sort of plastic on i...

Re: KVD Slash jerkbait from Strike King?

TW (finally) updated the weights on these, not the lengths though, they have the 4.5" at 3/8oz and the 4/75 at 1/2oz and still listed as suspending on both. all colors are also in stock, will have to pick a couple of these up on black friday!

Re: dobyns savvy vs denali rosewood

i cant say anything about the denalis's as i have never seen one, let alone fished one. but as far as the savvy goes, i would pass for bottom contact, i had a 692ss for a bit, and it was dead in my hands, just no sensitivity at all. i ended up returning it to the store and got a clearanced LTB for l...

Re: New Cumara's Released

im wondering how red they actually are, the spinning model might look nice witha fuego on it (i know, doesnt seem right!) they look OKm but i would rather have it been black with red accents instead of full on red =/ otherwise, kinda seems weird to upgrade the blank but downgrade the guides, but i s...

Re: How good is the Daiwa ballistic 2000sh?

i have had my ballistic 2000sh for about 2 months now, and its been fantastic. i also have 2 fuego 2000's and a 9530 pflueger patriarch, and for original retail price i would have to go with the ballistic of the 3 (though, the fuegos i got from TW when they were on sale, 1 for 170 and one for 125) i...

Re: Bass Pro Spinning reels with large arbor for fluorcarbon

i have only handled the BPS reels in store, and was not impressed (not the carbonlite though, didnt handle that one in my only trip to bps this year). they were reasonably smooth, but a little on the heavy side, im sure they are decent enough reels just not for me. in the same vein, however, i do ow...
