Re: Your Next Reel Purchase?
Well my next purchase is going to be about the salt as all my gear is fresh water only I guess because of that extremely corrosive material magnesium so working at getting all my lite-tackle saltwater gear for a attack on the salty fishy's from my yak in the Philippines the main reels I'm looking at...

Re: 7.1:1 or 7.9:1 for jigs & soft plastics?
Faster is better but its a mystery to me why its taken soooo long to get to this point in gear-ratio's Daiwa had a 7to1 gear ratio in the PT series waaaay back I used one for Carolina rig'in that reel would pick up line like nothing else available at the time.

Re: Who makes the best reel seat for a casting rod?
The ECS seat has worked gr8 for me as well but with considerable bench grinder and Dremel modifications I've never fished with any of the other seats mentioned but I like the look of the Pac Bay Minima seat the most of the seats I've seen other than the tried and true Fuji ECS reel seat. Fastfish

Daiwa/Shimano or Flip It Around
There the best of all, there are others but these 2 remain as the ones by which all others are measured I was in the beginning a Shimano fan and still am sorta but my intro's to Daiwa were all very positive and led to my almost complete switch-over the only place were the Shimano reels survived was ...

Who makes the best reel seat for a casting rod?
Primarilly looking for a reel seat that is available to the public for building a custom rod but if in my search I find "THE" rod then it'll end there so any and all suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I'm putting together a bait-casting reel drop-shot rig my handle and seat preference lean tow...

Re: Buying an older bass boat
Get a experienced marine surveyor to inspect any boat prior to purchase no matter what it's a guarantee that any money you spend on a surveyor will come back to you double because he will either find so much wrong with it you won't buy or it'll be a decent boat but he will find something that you'll...

Re: What boat wax?
3M is the best out there they know more about the chemicals needed to make a good wax because they make a lot of the chemicals used to make the clear coats and the gel coats used in modern fiberglass production I will with the other folks that have posted that there are other products that are very ...

Cameras On Kayaks
I've seen where some of you have mounted cameras on your yaks and I'm trying to gather ideas, I saw where 1 gentlemen I believe his name or handle was Yakass out of Australia he had 3 maybe 4 cameras on his yak. I'm wanting to have 1 main camera out on the bow pointing back towards me, but I'm think...

Re: Dropshot line concerns and thoughts
You see some of what I'm trying to achieve is to help my wife she's a little on the short side and she fishes with a couple of long rods and a lot of times she runs off fishing fishing away from me where I can help so just working on set ups will help this, she's gonna try a baitcasting rig for drop...

Re: UL Thoughts & Observations
Another great reply, nobody knows landing oversized fish on undersized tackle better than Ultra-lite anglers. I like probably a lot of you, got my start at fishing on a creek with trout being the main focus lite-line was a way of life and it stuck with me. I passed this way of fishing to my wife who...

Re: UL Thoughts & Observations
I was thinking of trying the braid/fused lines with floro leader on our rigs I'm gonna start out with our trout rods with Nanofil 6 then a 4lb floro leader on these rods I'm hoping for better casting and less line twist issues over using fluorocarbon as a main line my kiss theory gets in my way some...

UL Thoughts & Observations
So is this board just about all things tiny and light, meaning wispy rods rated 1-6lb and tiny lures or is this about catching big fish on lite-tackle because using medium or med-hvy bass gear and chasing after salt-water fish that's ultra-lite fishing at its best, big fish lite gear that's exciteme...

Re: What's Pure Fishing's best fluorocarbon?
There's a good read on Trilene 100% FC the test thought it was a pretty good line, I'm using it presently for all my fishing, I'm starting to realize there are some haters of the Pure Fishing Brands here at this board more specifically Trilene but read the review for self then get a spool see for se...
