Re: Daiwa / Ima collaboration
I figured that it was omly a matter of time before Megabass would join the party with their own AGS rods, given their relationship with Daiwa - but Evergreen? That's pretty intriguing. Can't wait to see what both companies come up with.

Re: Daiwa / Ima collaboration
IMO, these are some very elegant-looking seabass rods, though I'm not sure how much of a collaboration it is. I haven't seen Daiwa mentioned anywhere in the marketing materials. AGS guides have popped on at least one other maker's seabass rods (Apia), so Daiwa may actually be licensing the guides fo...

Presso 1003? They no longer make that if that is what you mean. Luvias 1003 is still in production. I'm pretty sure he is talking about the JDM Presso that goes for around 200.00. The American released reel is no longer in production but it is also nothing like the Japanese version. Nope. He means ...

Pretty! I guess with such a limited run, it was to be expected that they'd sell out so quickly.

Re: Where can one order a JDM casting rod?
It doesn't have to be that rod. I put that as a reference point. I am wanting a shorter rod for canoe fishing and floating tandem, as we often do, six footers are really too long. To me, this sounds a lot like the Megabass Orochi X4 F2-54x4 Barchetta. It's a 5'4" fast action casting rod. My underst...

Re: specs on new MB xx orochi rods now up
Bummer, just noticed the deep crank & swimbait rod are 2 piece.. Guess that's nice for rod lockers & travel though. Offset handle. I know there continues to be skepticism about how well rods of this type perform -- but there are more than a few legendary JDM rods that have this feature, including t...

I'd say different fish. It may be a trick of the light but the 2014 edition looks fatter than the 2010, yet your measurements say it weighs 3/4lb. less?
Whether it's the same or different fish, it's definitely a beauty!

I regularly spool one of mine with 75m (~82 yards) of 4.5lb machinegun cast, and haven't noticed any problems.

Doesn't seem like this variant is designed for casting. Jigging reel, perhaps?
