Re: Daiwa Experts SOS! Bought a JDM Steez CT SV TW700 and think I made a mistake. USDM differences?

First we can address Hyperdrive technology. It is a new gear design, not a rebranding of something else. Basic information about this has been published since Daiwa released the US Zillion G and is there for viewing on their website: Daiwa Zillion I've seen a couple of depictions that more accuratel...

Re: Steez AGS 7'2" Heavy vs. BLX 7'2" Heavy+ vs. P5 7'3" FMJ vs. Poison Adrena 7'2" Heavy vs. XX Perfect Pitch

There are a couple of amazing rods in the BLX line up, but that 72H BLX could have been called XXH power and wouldn't have been over rated. Such a strange rod it is, and really no good for much of anything reasonable in my opinion... The Steez AGS 72H Power Pitch is an amazing stick. It pitches beau...

Re: Your opinion about the Z2020 in 2023.

I still have two that I use regularly and have amassed spare parts just in case. The Z is one of the most brilliant reels I've encountered. They maintain a welcome place in my lineup.

Re: Deep cranking rod

I think the Daiwa BLX 7'4" MH Limber Graphite should work as well. Unless you want higher end than a BLX. That rod is definitely on my radar. Certainly don't need higher end than that for a cranking rod. Yeppers, I think the BLX is a way under the radar high quality rod series. Agreed. There are a ...

Re: 2023 Daiwa Tatula MQ LT Spinning Reel

Thanks! Interesting info. Since the deep-spool 2500 size holds considerably more line than the shallower 3000-CXH (the one without the D), those two different sizes are probably even closer in weight when spooled with line. You're welcome. That makes sense regarding the weight with line. I've been ...

Re: 2023 Daiwa Tatula MQ LT Spinning Reel

I have the 23 Tatula MQ LT 3000-CXH and my first impressions are very positive and I see this as a huge improvement over the previous model. The implementation of MQ design is the biggest structural change of course. The overall feel, and so far performance have been above expectations. The weight l...

Re: Replacements

Both of these lines seem great but I have trouble with the whole concept. Why would it be necessary to ad color to a line that is almost invisible in it's clear form ? If fluoro has the same refractive index as water wouldn't coloring it just make it more visible ? The "hidden" concept, as it's tol...

Re: 2023 Megabass F4st-69RSDti Craftsman Pride Edition

Do they have a list of all the releases they are doing or are they just slowly being released one at a time and nobody knows what’s coming next? There isn't an official list to my knowledge. I'll post up info on their release as it becomes available. I already know several folks wanting to get the ...

Whelp, it's a no-go...Plat cancelled my order stating parts are available only for repair by Daiwa.
Yet another example of not being able to get OEM parts from Daiwa for JDM magsealed reels... Van feel free to shoot me an email or a message if I can help.

The "hidden" concept is interesting too...

Re: Need Daiwa JDM Reel Servicing Recs

Remove the magsealed bearing and insert a ZZ or whatever your taste, just shim the difference of the thickness. That what people were doing here as they didn't want to pay $50 a bearing from memory. That sounds easy if you're a reel tech capable of tearing down and reassembling an Exist, Certate, o...
