Re: Rapala DT Flat vs OG or any other Flat Sided Crankbait?
OG 3 and 6 would be close. Don't overlook the Fritts designed Berkley Frittside flatside cranks. The 7 is closest to the DT Flat 7. The Berkley hardbaits in general are good. I also like the new Bomber Flat A with the weight transfer for fishing rip rap. They are cheap, have the right action, cast w...

Re: OG tatula vs New tatula rod
Bumping this thread rather than creating a new topic. My rose tinted glasses tell me the 1st gen rods were better than the Elite I have now. At the time the 1st gen rods stood out to me in how sensitive and balanced they were for a sub $200 rod especially with a $100 street price. My 73MH Elite feel...

Re: A list of great spool swaps
Adding the 1010 in a TD-Z to the list. I heard about this one from Hogsticker2. I've had my FX68 1010 spool in a few reels and it was a long bomber in a gen 1 Steez LTD but I had to run the mag dial super high to keep it in control and I always struggled to make short casts with poppers around the b...

Re: Bass Fishing Not Very Popular?
Reddit is where all the young bass normies are at talking about youtube crap and kastking reels. The bass forums have their own cultures with TT being the import tackle and enthusiast online presence of bass fishing in the US/Canada. I remember reading about Keitech paddle tails, BFS and orderig JDM...

Re: TD-Z Owners Guild
Daiwa TD-Z Small Bait Special. IMG_8749.jpeg That's a rare spool. I have that exact spool in an IP68 for pitching and skipping weightless plastics on a gen 1 PP. Does an excellent job. He believes it to be Rays which I would agree. You are probably thinking of the MB honeycomb 36 mm spool. Which in...

Re: St Croix Seviin reels
To me it's seems like a money grab. The cheapest baitcast reel you can possibly make is a plastic reel with a linear mag brake. This is why the lowest of the low end offerings all use this formula from good entry level reels like the Black Max to the cheapest of the cheap Aliexpress reels. To take o...

Re: St Croix Seviin reels
On another forum this reel is being pimped HARD. The admin of the site is making the dubious claim that St. Croix designed the reel and owns the tooling, even though it's a Chinese OEM reel like everything else Banax. Those of us that know better were quick to point out that it's a Banax with a dif...

Re: Differences between Zillion PE Special and Zillion Type R?
Can the braid bars be removed from this reel? They make fishing with big fluorocarbon line basically impossible for me. The same IP68 spool in my IP reels is fine but backlashes in the PE special. I think the flouroslinky is hitting the bars as it tries to get off the spool and shoot down the level ...

Battle damage
It's been knocked out of action. Spool bearings are shot and the rod has some smashed guides from a recent kayak flip at the boat ramp. The kayak and I capsized in 6 inches of water with the kayak nose beached on the ramp. The Hyuga got between the kayak and the ramp. Debating on fixing it or retiri...

Re: Moving to lighter gear due to injury?
I've somehow given myself tennis elbow not by doing anything cool like kayaking, fishing or mountain biking but by sitting on the couch weird. It makes throwing big baits painful. Worst is picking things up with that arm like a tacklebox. https://i.postimg.cc/ydBPp7RT/Screenshot-20231022-125259-Gall...
