Re: Why ultralite
Its interesting That I usually take a medium rod with me when using my ultralite. I still think throwing bigger lures will catch me bigger fish but, all I catch with the bigger lures are less fish. You would think I would wise up especially when My fishing buddy always uses heavier tackle and I out ...

Re: Your favorite UL spoon?
I have been doing very unscientific test of little cleos, kastmasters and my favorite Tony Accetta. Went to the Susquehanna because the Hickory shad are in and the good news is I caught fish on all 3 spoons. Used a gold Kastmaster and it caught the fewest fish, this could have been due to its gold c...

Re: First fish of 2013
Nice perch. My buddy and I went perch fishing last week and we struck out, though he did get two Lm on a Power grub. I was throwing a spoon and had something hooked but it spit the hook. Yesterday I caught a pickerel and a small northern. Was switching between ultralight and medium tackle, using the...

Re: New UL Rapala
You guys need to fish some tony accetta spoons. I think they will out fish castmasters and with the single hook they get hung up less. I thinkI have caught about 14 different species On tony's. I plan to fish the two of them and see this year. I have had such good luck this year with the tony's and ...

ultalight northerns
Not quite as nice as a 39" musky but I just had my best day with an ultra light. I caught 2 36" Northerns and 3 chain pickerel and a bigger one wrapped me around a branch and broke off. That fish made a splash that sounded like someone throwing a cinder block in the water. I was litterally shaking. ...

Re: Neat UL Reel: D.A.M. Quick 110N
Quicks were my favorite reels back in the day. I still have a 110( Well used) in the box. It was bought at Woolworths for $19.99 in 1975.

Re: Kid friendly UL Bass Fishing
I agree keep it simple, a small light rod and reel,It doesn't need to be high end, maybe 6 lb. mono and some mepps spinners or tony accetta spoons which catch a lot of different fish and don't snag very often. You might take him to a pond where catching fish is often easy.

Re: Your favorite UL spoon?
My favorite spoon is tony accetta size 13. I'm not sure of the weight. They also make a size 12 which is smaller. I have been killing perch and small rock with it. also caught a 20" sea trout recently and a large mouth over 5 lbs.
