Re: Aldebaran BFS XG!
Does any one know if there will ever be a U.S. version of this reel at some point? A Core BFS XG?

Re: New Cumara "Screw up"
I think the reason for switching to this design was to eliminate the exposed threads above the reel seat. If you palm the reel and put your index finger on the blank, the rough threads are no longer in the way.

Re: The new 2013 Shimano Cumara rods
I'm not thrilled with the color, but I can get over it. What really concerns me is how short the foam grip behind the reel seat is on the casting rods. On my old Cumara's, the length of the grip is perfect and just long enough for my hand. It looks a lot shorter now so I don't know how that is going...

Re: new cumara pic
Thanks for the heads up!! Was dying to see some more info on these. I wonder if they have all the models listed, or if there are others not yet listed. I'm glad to see some of my all time favorites carried over, and some new ones, but some are missing. Looks like technique specific will phase out th...

Re: Core 50 MG7 vs. Revo MGX
Thank you for the excellent feedback everyone! Very helpful, especially the performance comparison of the braking systems. Seems like a pretty unanimous decision for another Core.

Core 50 MG7 vs. Revo MGX
Hello, I've been fishing a Core 50 for years now and it still impresses me every time I use it. I love the light weight, ergonomics, and ability to cast and pitch light baits. I'm looking to add another reel, and wondering about the MGX. I've held the MGX in the store but haven't fished it. The size...

Re: lets see new rod and reels!!!
I'll second that...where is the new Cumara / Cumulus? Bass Reels? Getting very worried that all we're going to see is the Compre, Clarus, Convergence, Calcutta and trolling rods.

Re: Duckett White Ice??????
The White Ice rods have finally been posted to their site. They look slightly different from the earlier photos I've seen (with no foam grip on the end).

Re: Kistler Helium or Shimano Cumara
I have used both, and I would go with a Cumara for sure. They are lighter and significantly more sensitive than the Helium. The wide range of lengths and actions to choose from is also an advantage.

Re: Any one have any experience withDiawa's Samauri braid
Here's my experience from this past weekend. I recently purchased some 20 lb. Samuri. I've been using 20 lb. Slick 8 in the brown color, and it is fading pretty fast and is very visible in clear water. So I tied a 4' leader of the Samuri to the PowerPro using an Albright knot. On my first bite, the ...

Re: Weight of Cumara CUC-72MH?
The weights listed by Shimano are usually pretty accurate in my experience. I have a CUC-72MH that was purchased about 2 years ago, and it weighed 4.2 oz on my digital scale. It is one of my favorite rods, very light, very sensitive, great action/power.

Re: Well, FINALLY got my hands on a Villain
. The funny thing is there are a lot of others complaining about the weight of these rods and I don't remember Abu Garcia saying that these are going to be amazing light or any other catch phrase touting the rod as light weight as the selling point. Regarding the Villain being touted as a light rod...

Re: Cumara Reaction question
As someone mentioned, I too would highly recommend the CUC72M for what you describe (or CUC72MH) which are designed for worms/jigs/senkos. The CUC72M is designed/rated for 1/8 to 1/4 oz t-rig worm. I have a CUC72MH with a Core 50MG on it, and can cast a 1/8 jig quite well. It is an awesome, lightwei...

Re: Suffix Performance vs. Suffix 832
I find the 832 to be much smoother in texture and casts very well. It also seems to be thinner in diameter for same lb. test. It also sinks faster, so I don't like it for topwater. The other thing I've noticed after using it for a full season is that it wears out faster, and is less abrasion resista...
