Re: Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon XL Professional Grade

Thanks guys for the replies. I wonder, and this is not a jab at anyone, how many have actually compared Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon XL Professional with other fluorocarbons, or do the majority just use a JDM line because someone said " I fish JDM line because it's the best ". Just a thought, and tryin...

Re: Will Metanium 13' XG Handle Shank fit the New Metanium M

Agreed, there is a very noticeable difference between the two. Yesterday it hit 100-degrees again, so no water time with the MGL yet. But... I couldn't stand it any longer and put the MGL on an NRX 852C and went under some shade trees in the back yard :). Using 1/8 and 1/4 oz. washers and with 4 bra...

Re: Will Metanium 13' XG Handle Shank fit the New Metanium M

Thank you to Bantam, Phatbass and everyone for all the information and comments. What I have learned through this thread is the 13' Metanium has a tapered line guide made of SiC and the new Metanium MGL has been upgraded to Titanium. Also, the MGL models still have handles that are interchangeable w...

Re: Will Metanium 13' XG Handle Shank fit the New Metanium M

Hey Batam and Phatbass; Received the Metanium MGL150 today. Yes, there is a different appearence between the Line Guides on the MGL and 13' Metanium. On the 13' MET it looks like a dark titanium color and on the MGL it looks like smooth brass! :? Is there a version of titanium with a brass color fin...

Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon XL Professional Grade

OK, been silent hoping somebody else would recommend the fluorocarbon line I use. Why no love for Berkley Trilene 100% Fluorocarbon XL Professional grade? It's marketed mostly as a spinning reel line, but it works great with my Metaniums too. I use either 8 or 10 pound and am very happy with how man...

Re: Will Metanium 13' XG Handle Shank fit the New Metanium M

Thanks Bantam,

That's some good information. In another thread someone said the MGL tapered line guide is now made of titanium, was the 13' Metanium different?

Re: Will Metanium 13' XG Handle Shank fit the New Metanium M

Thanks, that's good to hear.

MGL arrives Thursday, first thing to do is put the 96mm handle on, then spool it with line, and then... wait for the temperature to get below the 90s before hitting the water. Might be a long wait. :(

Will Metanium 13' XG Handle Shank fit the New Metanium MGL?

Hi Bantam, (or anyone who knows the answer)

I have a Metanium MGL 150 on the way. Will my extra Metanium 13' XG 96mm Handle Shank fit the new MGL? Hopefully it will because Shimano's website doesn't have any parts for the Metanium MGL models yet. :(

Thanks

Re: Metanium '13 handle

Shimano's website shows the "Handle Assembly" is out of stock with an ETA of 2016/08/25. The assembly includes knobs, bearings, etc. Why don't you just order the "Handle Shank" that I posted earlier (it's in stock) and use your current handle's knobs, bearings, screws, washers, and caps? Seems like ...

Re: Best dropshot rig...in the world?

You said NRX is to expensive, but if you change your mind take a look at the NRX 842S. Has the same specs as the NRX 852S except its one-inch shorter and a Medium-Fast (not Medium-Extra Fast like 852S). It's little bit softer overall including the tip. It's a great rod for drop-shot and finesse fish...

Re: Best dropshot rig...in the world?

Ouch! Now that's just mean. I also appreciate when people take the time to post as many details as possible. Why would you question someone's integrity after he took the time to post an answer to the question you asked?

It appears you've been accused of being an undercover/incognito/behind the scenes rod salesman promoting a future sale.

Re: Metanium '13 handle

Straighten one end of a paper clip. Bend the straightened end at a right-angle about 1/8-inch to create a hook. Place the hook in the hole and pull. P.S. You should consider also purchasing 2 or 3 extra washers to get that perfect fit on the new handle and knobs too. Shimano calls it a "washer", but...

Re: Metanium '13 handle

I bought mine directly from Shimano: http://fish.shimano.com/ Click on "Parts" and follow the links. OR You can call them at: Customer Service. (877) 577-0600 Shipping is fast and cheap. Current price is a very reasonable $12.84. (for handle only - no knobs, etc.) Description: HANDLE SHANK ASSEMBLY ...

Re: Metanium '13 handle

Yes, all Metanium '13 handles are interchangeable. I replaced my Metanium 100 84mm handle with the 96mm handle from an XG model. Great inexpensive upgrade.
