Re: Lucky Craft Co in trouble?
If that is the case, why are so many stores not getting anything from them to stock their shelves? :-s I've talked to five retailers and hear the same story... This is certainly puzzling, and is something I have found as well. Huge fan of the pointers. Unbreakable and work on a vast range of specie...

Re: Knot question
I use around 18 wraps (9 each side) for lighter leader, with a maximum of 20. Too many wraps and it gets hard to tighten the knot so that the braid changes colour all the way along its length.

Re: Knot question
Get the Daichii Knot Tool 2.0. Holds the line in place and is a snack to use. I use it for all braid strengths from 6lb to 40lb and leaders from 6lb to 45lb. Comes with instructions, showing how to tie a Rizutto finish. Essential to pull hard on the knot until the braid changes colour before you tig...

Re: Metanium mgl vs chronarch mgl thread
Just replaced my new but buzzing 13 Met 6.2 aluminium drive gear with a new brass drive gear from the Curado K, keeping the new original 13 Met pinion gear. Wow! No time on the water with it, but now as smooth as my Conquest 100HG. Noticed that the Curado drive gear is thinner than the original 13 M...

Re: Light line leader connection
Aqua - With the Daichii Knot Tool 2.0, it is a snack to tie the FG with any leader/braid combo with a Rizutto finish in 1-2 mins. I regularly tie 6 lb leader/6lb braid knots with the same ease as 45 lb leader/30lb braid knots. It is now the only leader knot I use.

Re: Rumor? Curado K/Met. Drive gear Swap?
So in the other thread, it was said only the drive gear is compatible. Which is the real story? http://www.tackletour.net/viewtopic.php?f=47&t=74529&start=45#p614388 I haven't read the other thread, but I do know that the conversion kit available at The Tackle Trap fits and works. That's the real s...

Only the drive gear is compatible. You must use the Met pinion. Still a great fix to the buzzing gear issue.

Paslode cleaner is also very effective for cleaning bearings. Best to spin them in a small jar of it using a Dremel.

Yes. Acetone will kill bearings that have plastic cages. Any rubber seals should of course be removed.

Before claiming how great some types of knots are, they need to be tested under controlled and repeated conditions. Please read aquaholiks very long thread on braid and knot strengths on SOL. Link? As mentioned above, the spreadsheet link is given in later posts of the thread. Here it is https://ww...

Read this and download the associated spreadsheet in later posts

Conclusion is that PR knot is the strongest, but the FG is not that far behind and is faster to tie. Forget the rest.

Re: Light line leader connection
I got the FG down pretty good and can tie if fairly quick, but ever since I been using this 6lb sunline FC its hard to get a good connection, I use the same 8lb and 10lb sunline FC without any issues.... :-k How many wraps? Before you finish the knot, either with half hitches or better still a Rizu...
