Re: Alphas SV bearing upgrade

I just used a q-tip if it didn't fall out on its own. I pushed on the backside to push it out.

Re: Auction site gems

Very nice. How good are they function wise? Are they like the casting version and still a strong reel, or are they out dated with today's spinning reels?

Re: Lets see all them Daiwa's

Is buyee the best option to go with as far as purchasing from the Japan auctions? I've spent the last couple of days looking on there and found a red personal order I want. Just looking for some tips before I make a purchase. Too many tdzs being posted lately and I want one!!

The mini mop jig is excellent! I like the Strike King Betsy flips too.

Re: Auction site gems

Did anyone get the Blue personal order that ended today? I was at $275 and got side tracked today and missed it for $280. I really wanted that!! ](*,)

Re: Daiwa Reel Covers

I use TW covers and Rod Glove covers. The only thing I don't like about TW ones, is that with fluorocarbon the cover leaves an impression on the line. I haven't had any break offs, but it is a concern when I put them on and take them off.

Re: Did I score?

I work for FedEx and I can say it is both raged employees and awful stack jobs. Most of the employees don't care to stack a truck or can the right way. Everytime I see a rod tube from TW coming down the line, I make sure to pack it properly so nothing can damage it. Most of the time damage occurs in...

Pretty sure this transaction was the easiest and the fastest I have ever made with someone. Great seller, and he shipped my reel out immediately with insurance. Thank you!

I think mine is bent like that. I'll give it another look and see if that helps. Thanks!

Re: Alphas SV-maintenance question

But have you taken the spring in and out? I did dab some grease in there and the white plastic plate is there too. I remember a post where a guy was raising hell about the spring, and Ian said to not bend that spring, but to replace it. I may just have to send it out because there are a couple other...

Re: Alphas sv105 question

I would like to know also. I am having the same problem except mine barely turn, and one of them feels rough as crap. It's definitely not the bearing either. Hopefully someone will chime in!!

Alphas SV-maintenance question

My reel locked up on me a couple of days ago, and after inspection the clutch cam spring had popped out. Now, is this something that needs replaced often? Do they deform easily? I ask because I did a full clean on this reel about 3 weeks prior to this trip, and the spring was taken out and reassembl...
