Re: new curado 1 on the way , brake setting help?

Be careful when you open your reel that you do not spin the cover around, which could hit and chip the finish on the main body. It isn't all that delicate, but those complaining about chipped paint on the main body have usually done it themselves by swinging the cover around. I recommend that you a...

Re: new curado 1 on the way , brake setting help?

I use the same weight lures and i keep 2 brake shoes on and the dial on 3. Then i usually never have to add anymore brake shoes. I will adjust the dial for lure weight and wind. Normally the adjustments are down to 2 or up to 4. The curado I isnt a reel that backlashes easy

Re: Curado I vs. Tatula vs. 13 Fishing Concept A

I have both the Curado I and the 13 Concept A. It would depend on the size line you use. If your using 10 or 12lb, I would go Concept A, 14+ Curado.
I have 8/30 PP on the Concept and 16lb Super natural mono on the Curado.

Both reels are very nice reels.

Re: 13 Fishing reels????

I got a concept A 6.6:1 earlier this week. I have been pleased so far. I didn't have very high expectations though. I like the small size. I like the casting system. I felt like i got good casting distance, nothing incredible, but i wasn't really wishing for more either. The retrieve was much smoot...

Re: t3 dilema

i guess i will just pick up a few t3s and upgrade the t3b i have lol! I upgraded the spool bearings in my T3B and didnt gain much in performane. So the only thing i would upgrade is the handle. I like the performanceout right out of the box but hate the handle. The Tackle Trap has Daiwa Advantage h...

hard to tell.
That is grease. There was a TON of grease inside the reel. More than I've ever seen in a reel.

The only reel I have handy is the chronarch CI4. The concept A is about an inch shorter and 1/4 less wide.

Re: 13 Fishing reels????

Is the pinion gear bearing supported? Are the knobs bearing supported? Are the levelwind drive gears helical or spur cut? Also, how smooth does the drag feel? I can't comment on the drag smoothness, I didn't spool it yet. It is a stacked drag system, carbon, metal, carbon, metal keyed, carbon, meta...

Re: 13 Fishing reels????

I can't give an on the water review, still frozen here in NJ. I got a Concept A yesterday and took it apart to remove the grease and grease/oil it to my liking. Very smooth and sturdy feeling. Body is smaller than I thought. Cork knobs are very think and seem to be very strong. Here are a few pictur...

Re: T3 for buzz baits?

The T3 is great for buzzbaits. Being able to engage the reel with pushing down the hood is perfect for buzzbaits. The T3 can handle bigger baits than you probably think. I have thrown the whopper plopper with the T3 without any problem. That lure is 1 3/8th i believe. The only thing i dont care for ...

Re: Any reviews on the Megabass xx Extreme Mission????

I have both the EMTF and the DX744. Both are very nice rods. It depends what is more important to you for which is better. To me the 744 balances better but the EMTF is more sensitive. They are both very versital rods. I feel the EMTF handles 3/4oz + baits better. Something else to consider, Dobyns ...

Re: Spinnerbait rod no price limit

A 7'MH XF rod paired with a high speed reel and 14LB Fluoro will be right in your wheel house. If the pike are big I would jump up to 17 or 20lb fluoro
There are lots of good rod manufactures so buy the rod from the company you like the most
