A 70 is a RH reel a 71 a LH. I don't believe they take the same gear sets. Brian.

Re: Metanium 20 & Shallow Water Edition Comparision w/ Pics
I have 2 of them coming in HG for 2 Poison Adrena 7'3" MH's. I'll spool them with 12 lb Tatsu and call it a wrap. Hopefully it will be perfect for trigs, 3/8oz Jigs, and various other soft plastics. Brian.

Re: Millionaire 70 CT SV
Anyone know of an orange drag star available for this reel. Thanks all, Brian. Short answer, nope. I just got this reel and wondered the same thing, but haven't found one yet. I hoped that one of the longer armed grey/silver metal versions fit but I unfortunately don't think they do. I planned on a...

Re: Thumbar not Engaging Properly
Why would the spool be turning quickly when you press the thumb bar? The thumb bar is for casting, the spool should be stopped. Are you spinning the handle really fast and pressing the thumb bar to see how long your spool will freespool? If yes, quit doing that. Brian.

Re: flushing/cleaning bearings
I use an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner. I put the bearings into a glass baby food jar, along with acetone, and start it up for a cycle. be very careful with acetone. i have ruined some high end ZPI ceramic hybrid bearings before as I wasn't aware they used polymer cages to hold the balls in, most bear...

Re: Metanium replacement bearings
I’m wanting to replace the bearings in my Shimano Metanium MGL 2020 model. I’ve been looking online at various sites that have individual bearings and sets, but can’t find any that seem to be specifically for the latest Metanium. I see a lot of references to the XG, HG, XT, and 16 Metanium… having ...

Re: Met 13 Idle Gear question
Been awhile since I've had my met 13 but I believe the idle gear turns 90 degrees about the level wind to lock in place. With the c clip removed on the side plate side of the level wind, pull the whole thing out. Set the idle gear by sliding it on and turning it to lock in place and then install it...

Re: How to get brake shoes for 20 Metanium
The pins that hold the brakes on the spool are not supposed to be removed. They are press fit to prevent them from coming loose. The brakes are not available as a separate item because of the way they are installed. So what are the options when they wear out or break? Kind of strange to use a non-s...

Re: Has everyone forgot the Shimano Chronarch is even a thing?
I use 6 of the 150G's in my Florida Kit, 2-XG's, 4-HG's. I have found nothing better in my 30+ years for the fishing I do there. Spool capacity is good for big Flouro, Copoly and Braid, plus they flatout cast a mile. Brian. Maybe you should try the new zillion 8-) Have 2-JDM Zillions on 7'3" Kage A...

Re: No Dig Braid
Berkley X9 in 8# test is crazy-thin. I use the 10# and it's thinner than sewing thread. Seems well-behaved and I caught this one, just under 8#, on it. https://i.postimg.cc/j5YdBLVq/20211106-105743.jpg Great, ordered X9 in 10lb. Black Friday and it came today. I'll spool it up, tie up a leader and ...
