Re: 2021 steez ags rods

I just picked up one of these new Steez rods. I am not impressed and I have not even fished it yet. Some pretty poor grade cork on this rod. Plus the cork handle smells like someone dunked it in a barrel of varnish/solvent. Completely unacceptable for a $550 rod!

Up for preorder at Plat. Made in Japan and reasonably priced.
Thanks. Just pre-ordered one. About the same price as a Daiwa steez A.

Re: Megabass P5 Tequila Baccarac for Punching

I do not boat flip. Can not answer that question. Ya I would say the sweet spot is 2oz or so. I love this rod so much. I am waiting on them to get back in stock. Want a 2nd one. Not much this rod can not do.

I picked up a Daiwa ryoga 1520l-cc. Found a good deal on one.

Which one

Going to get a new reel for throwing 1 to 3 oz swimbaits. Narrowed it down to the Daiwa ryoga 1016/1520 or a Daiwa steez a/hlc. Will be using 18 to 20 lb sniper. I have been using a Daiwa sv103. Which reel would you get and why?

Love throwing 1/4 or so Spinnerbaits. Especially around bream beds. I have been using a MB P5 cyclone with a Daiwa alphas ct sv and it will launch them.

Re: Megabass rods keep breaking while casting

Guess I have been lucky or I catch small fish. Lol. I have 7 P5's, 5 XXX's, 2 XX's and 3 Levante's. I fish 3 days a week. 10 months out of the yr. I have not had a problem out of any of them. I thoroughly enjoy using them. Probably will break one tomorrow. Lol. Lol don’t jinx yourself. But honestly...

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

A few disjointed thoughts on the Bait Finesse after 3-4 hours and 3-4 bass: 1) It casts like a dream. Admittedly it is replacing a ML/XF rod, so it will be better just in terms of taper, but above and beyond that, this thing is so so nice to make casts with. Distance and accuracy are both great and...

Re: Are you still using any of the OG Alphas?

I use my R Edition with a Zonda 10R spool to crank and use my heavily modified Finesse Custom with R Edition spool for all kinds of ML duties. I also love my Alphas CT SV for when I only want to take one casting setup with me. It's so versatile. The Daiwa Alphas CT SV is one sweet reel. I was amaze...

Cranking rod

I am going to pick up a new cranking rod for throwing 1/2 to 3/4 oz mid depth cranks. I have narrowed it down to the Megabass Levante f5-75lv emtf or the Daiwa rebellion 610MHRB. Looking for some feedback from people who have fished both or either one.
Thanks
Jarett

Re: New Megabass Destroyers

P5 Bait Finesse is a slightly faster taper than the Carbon Head Hein. I picked it up for smaller jerkbaits and drop shot as the drop shotting I do is more casting than vertical No plans to use it however, for a Keitech jig with small trailer though. I use the Cyclone for that I really wish MB had c...
