Re: Sufix 832 10 lbs vs Spiderwire Stealth 10 lbs - diameter
The weave seemed to be very loose on the spool I had. Tighter weaves means less water, less weight, longer casts. The newer lines still have the same issues of buoyancy and knot strength but the performance is much improved in the lighter varieties. Not a fan of the price tags, then again, most pric...

Thinner lines will cast further but Spiderwire? Sorry, if they were giving it away for free, it would still be in my trash. Lots of better options that will actually do what you want.

Re: i've got the torzites
The smaller SIC rings are not as polished as their larger cousins, in some cases. It's much like some blanks are not as straight as others. My preference is that the frames are cleaner with the TLSGs. I really see no reason for a guide frame that small to be braced. Weight is comparable. I tried Nan...

The 4s are very nice but I used TLSG for running guides.

Brian,
Gorgeous fish. Could be the same fish if the pond is small enough. Certainly hope that one keeps making babies.

Re: Full Ceramic Bearings Anyone?
As in many applications, a superior component can have diminishing returns. Bearings are still mass produced items with little testing and quality control. I would not trust any published specs on bearings coming from China, at this point. As far as use on boat trailers, ceramics can be brittle and ...

Re: The Future of The Anti-Reverse
Using a fingertip or "cupping" the spool is as old as spinning reel technology. Do it all the time. Spinning tackle is much different than baitcasting tackle and this is why you see some of the old ways remaining alive. The cub drags of the past continue to have followers in fishing clubs. I can't r...

Re: What would you NOT build with again?
All I use are Fuji guides. Agree, size 4 are the smallest necessary but the 3.5s are not really much different. Most of the aluminum oxide guides are out of consideration. I do wish Fuji would market with a bit less hype. There are some blanks I would never use again but that comes and goes. GLoomis...

Martin,
Sootys get a little bigger than smallmouths but smallmouths jump, it is their claim to fame.
Tell us about deforming and tearing trebles. What size trebles?
Sorry you had to read through my rant to post this.

Well, thank goodness for the ignore function. My parting words, no one wants to belittle you because you want to live your life differently from others. However, some of us that put in the time and effort for a higher education are not going to feel guilty that we did so and have the skills and expe...

"hyperbole and manufactured narrative" All the teeth and telekinesis fantasies has impacted your own sense of reality. You do know you cannot do any of these things? You're not related to that Ronald Stan nut case? You've been digging through the Thesaurus again. Not bad for a bagboy at a grocery st...
