Re: Jerkbait rod
Dobyns 704cb is a great overall jerkbait rod. I step up to the 705cb when throwing larger baits like the 127mr.

Re: best topwater frogs
Nories NF 60 and Deps SlitherK are my favorites in non PIKE water. If I'm fishing lakes with Pike then I throw a spittin wa or Iobee which are both good frogs too and don't hurt the wallet as much to lose.

Re: Daiwa SV series: please rank!
1. Steez sv- overall performance smoothness and weight 2. Sv 103-workhorse built like a tank for heavy cover techniques 3. Alphas Sv - finesse orientated techniques I own all 3 and like them all for different reasons. Truthfully if the alphas had more drag capabilities I would probably own a couple ...

I have had best luck with Gamma leader material. I get it through fish usa on the south shore of lake erie. It's a tough floro leader material that is slightly thicker than competitors and priced decent.

Re: Finesse spinning rod combo for around 400 usd
Daiwa Cronos 701 which is a med-light spinning can be had for just over 100$ on fleabay and some discount sites (pm me for info). I believe cabelas has the Daiwa Ballistic Ex still discounted. You could have a very nice combo for 250$ range.

I'm happy with mid line product like dobyns champions and daiwa cronos. To me they seem to offer the best performance to the dollar.

Re: Jackall squad minnow 80
Interesting that the 80's suspend and the 95's seem to be slow sinking or slow risers from the few people I have talked to. I would think the smaller bait would have been much more weight critical than the larger model.

Re: Jackall squad minnow 80
I picked up a few when TW had them on sale. I'm hoping they will work similiar to a pointer 78 in action and running depth. Found it strange that two plastic beads create the rattle on this bait.

Re: Megabass S Crank 1.2 vs 1.5?
I couldn't figure out why it didn't come with a split ring? I figured tying direct would hinder the hunting action that you buy these baits for in the first place.
