Re: Adding some color to a Slider Swimmer 175
If I wanted to redo it and not spend much, I’d buy some Pearl Mica powder and mix that into some epoxy and apply over a white basecoat. Simple, and will give it a very nice Pearl/iridescent shine. Hardest part will be the clear coat though, tough to keep the joints from swinging and touching on a tu...

Re: Custom Paints
Jeffbro- You're stuff looks great and the fish agree. I really wanted to paint some baby trout patterns for friends that fish redfish, but he said that he didn't need the detail for dumb fish in dirty water haha! Your pattern looks great! I haven't been painting much due to lack of fishing. I have ...

Re: Aldebaran MG7 and Saltwater
Well, I bought the reel, the reel is in pretty good condition, no scratches or dings, hopefully the frame will last like the metanium when fishing saltwater. The metanium frame is pretty dang good as long as you kept washing it Good deal, no scratches and dings is the most important part so you sho...

Re: Aldebaran MG7 and Saltwater
I had corrosion slowly start to show up after a few years of use. Side plate now detaches as the hole the pin slides through has corroded, and the area inside the reel around the pinion bearing has corroded slightly. Removing and reinstalling that bearing removes just enough material to allow corro...

NRX+ 842c
Anyone fished the old NRX 842 or the Conquest 842 that could make comparisons between them and the new NRX+ 842? Comparison of other rods in the series, new vs. old are also welcome, but most interested in the 842. Original 842 NRX had an extremely light tip that tapered to a relatively strong backb...

Re: Night fishing and lighting
Here in GA, the colored bow lights and white stern light are only required on powered vessels, so that you know what direction a craft is travelling in at night, much the same as requirements on aircraft. A sail boat or kayak only requires a single white indicator light to indicate the presence of ...

Re: Night fishing and lighting
Do you actually need red and green to be legal where you are? Never heard of needing anything other than a 360degree white light in some states. We aren’t required to have anything other than a headlamp to signal with(would always recommend using more though)which is why I ask.

Re: Enough with the tackle. LETS SEE SOME FISH!
40”+ redfish will definitely get the heart pumping while wade fishing. Lots of big redfish in the shallows lately, as well as a few flounder. Custom Conquest 842c/Stile SS still gets the job done everyday. https://i.postimg.cc/LsFfxt67/168-F5-A7-D-5-F0-D-46-C2-A467-582-C166-CE9-DA.jpg https://i.post...

Re: Curado 70mgl spool bearing size
Maybe, this guide will help you. You can find all Shimano bearings with the Shimano part number, their measure and the industrial code. https://www.bocabearings.com/fishing-reel-bearing-tips-advice/shimano-fishing-reel-bearing-cross-reference The Curado 70 MGL has no bearing on the spool shaft. htt...

Re: Curado 70mgl spool bearing size
Isn't that in the schematics? There is no bearing on the shaft, which ones are you looking to replace? 70mgl.jpg Thanks, that was the first thing I did, but it’s not my money being spent. Just wanted to confirm since my Stiles have a bearing on the spool and it’s the same frame. Shimano doesn’t usu...

It’s sad no one can answer a question like this on a site like this. Used to get an answer in 5 minutes when I joined. If I find an answer I will update.

The sightfishing has been on fire lately. Lots of big fish moving up shallow. Caught on custom Conquest 842c/Stile SS https://i.postimg.cc/HWwhjbBG/724-D8586-120-D-48-C7-AD51-55-F59-F3-D624-F.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/02ZX0xTc/324-D2495-40-FF-48-DF-99-FA-F57-EB299-B96-C.jpg https://i.postimg.cc/pXP1j...
