You could use barbless hook that doesn't required to be set. Fish doing that itself.

Re: Rod vs reel casting distance
When sun is shooting in yours eyes it is not so easy to track flying of the lure and catch moment when lure hit the water. Educated thumb not always could help. Use the brakes. It will save a lot of time. Especially during the blitz when everybody around getting fish but you because you have to figh...

Bead or rolling chain swivels?
I couldn't find any information about pound test for rolling chain swivels.
It is exist for some bead chain swivels but different manufacturers using different systems of numbering.
Is anybody has experience of chain swivels using?
What of them are preferable?
Thanks

Re: Blade Doesn't Rotating Sometimes
Thank you again, John! Yea, you are right - test distance has to be longer. The biggest salmon I've got that season was not so big: 21lb, 36". I have the picture of it on my kitchen (no lure hanging from the mouth, sorry). I have no idea how to post pictures on that forum. Looks like I need some kin...

Re: Blade Doesn't Rotating Sometimes
Thank you, John! I am building wirebaits with #5 or #6 French blades and weight of lure from 1/2 to 7/8 ounce, trying to copy Mepps Flying "C". That lure most successful for salmon in the Sacramento River. Also I am experimenting with different styles of non-traditional wirebaits. Testing of each ba...

Blade Doesn't Rotating Sometimes
After casting, sometimes body of the lure laying in the blade cavity and gliding like in the boat without rotation. I've first thought it is happen only with my lures but after testing Mepp's "Flying C" and Blue Fox I've found that is a common problem. It is seldom but I can't grasp why it is happen...

Re: Mono vs. Floro vs. Braid
Braid is not recommended if you are fishing near concrete structures or rocks with mussels - it has very low abrasion resistance. Fluoro here is the best.
If you are fishing on the sand beach or heavy grass cover, braid with fluoro leader the best.

Re: Help with braid
When you are filling yours reel first time, put source spool on the floor label up. In that case coils from the source spool will opposite to coils on the reel and finally line will be less pretwisted on the reel. At now, if line twisted too much, you could make following procedure: attach somewhere...

Re: Curado 300E
Revo Toro is excellent choice: brass gear, strong drag, designed for saltwater, more than reasonable price for all advantages... If similar reel make Daiwa or Shimano it would cost twice. FYI- new 300Es are approx @250 and the Toro 50 is 270. ...If similar reel make Daiwa or Shimano it would cost t...

Are EChip SpinRay Flashers compatible with RSK or FBR?
Question is: are Pro-Troll EChip SpinRay Flashers compatible with RSK or FBR? All of them are rotating while the trolling. Is direction of rotation the same? Could that rotations cause a tangling? How Pro-Troll ECip SpinRay Flashers necessary if RSK or FBR are rotating also and also have own EChips?...

Line retrieved per crank
When manufacturer claims line retrieved per turn for example 27.5 inches it means the spool is full or empty or half full? Different diameters give different amount of retrieved line. Yours opinions?
