Re: megabass destroyer Daemos
never fished the Javelin but im almost certain that the Daemos is faster. Its faster than the XX Diablo Spec R. More suited for single hook moving baits than trebles. i enjoy using the Daemos for t-rig, med jigs and larger weightless plastics.

Re: XX PP for small swimbaits?
I throw 1-1.5oz swimbaits on a Megabass Evoluzion LWL Mephisto. It’s incredible. had the mephisto at my house for a about a month. felt so good in my hands but i could not deal with the claw. they way i palm the reel, i could not get comfortable. the rod felt so good that i looked into changing out...

Re: XX PP for small swimbaits?
hey gary, have you fished the carbon head faust? was thinking that might work for the small bullshad and some bbz-1 rats. looks slow and long enough on paper.
also, can you add me to your list for a X4 Destruction?

Re: must have megabass rods?
i dont have much experience with older MB to say what is a must have but out of about 10 or so MB rods ive fished, the X4 Destruction (all 15 mins i had with it), Hein, FMJ and Daemos stand out.
tempted to grab a XX PP on sale for dedicated frogging and a Javelin at some point

Re: G. Loomis 843C MBR or 844c MBR for jigs
i find the old GLX rods to be very different from the NRX rods. for example, i would fish those jigs on the old GLX 843 but my NRX 843 would not feel right to me. it can handle them fine, but i hate the delay of a softer tip when im trying to be the crawfish. ive never fished the new GLX or Conquest...

Re: Want to buy one super high end rod - which one should it be?
id look at the MB FMJ. great balance and sensitivity and works well with single hook moving baits and even light frogging. for a more overall rod, the MB Daemos would be my choice. i wouldnt fish 1oz jigs + plastic on it though. Loomis (and a few others) has a great replacement plan (for a fee) shou...

Re: Loomis GLX 852S vs. NRX 852S
i have not fished the new 852s GLX but i can tell you that you cannot go wrong with the NRX. On sale it should narrow that $80 gap. i hold spinning rods with all fingers above the reel seat and i love the short foregrip on the NRXs. I have two fingers on the blank and balances well with a light reel...

I think the tackle trap has permanent Loomis sales, you just have to inquire for pricing. The Pond King wrote: G Loomis' never goes on sale, so I had to hop on it.

XX PP for small swimbaits?
I managed to break my x4 destruction in two places when kayaking a few wks ago. It was my first time out on the water with it and was having a blast tossing a bbz rat and didnt get to throw anything else. Dont cry for me, im already dead. I'd love to be able to justify buying the Onager but I dont t...

Re: Megabass dropshot rod casting
love the hein. although i havent fished DS with it, i think it would be a great choice except for the very light stuff.
ive done weightless plastics, shakey head, shallow cranks and smaller topwater.
such a fun rod, def a keeper.

Re: Megabass V. Evergreen
the XX DSR is great for single hook moving baits. i throw a whopper plopper on it and lipless sometimes too. pretty good balance and very comfortable in my hands. loads great, it's a little slower than a typical fast action IMO. for a jig/worm rod, treat yourself to a 2017 US Destroyer. i prefer the...
