Re: What is your LIGHT texas rig setup?

For casting, 852NRX or Poison Adrena 610ML. Both paired with Chronarch CI4 reels.
For spinning, 852s or 822SYR in NRX flavors.

Any experience with Hayabusa hooks?

They're on sale pretty cheap right now at TW. Interested in their drop shot hooks. Currently on back order but $1.39 for a 9pk is a screaming deal. For that price I'll pull the trigger anyways, but curious if anyone had real world experience with the brand. http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Hayabusa_DS...

Re: Tatula Signature Series

I'm interested in the 7'1" Spinning rod designed by Brett and the 7'6" designed by Seith. Looking forward to seeing them. Not sure about the silver color. The silver color is reminiscent of the original TD-X line of rods from the 90's (although those were cork handles). There were finesse rods, bot...

Re: NRX 852c

12lb FC w/ Chronarch Ci4HG I purchased mine from Gary at the Tackle Trap specifically for 1/4oz football jigs with twin tail trailer for Lake Shasta, where we have stunted growth spotted bass. Most of the fish I land are 0.75lbs to maybe 1.5lbs. I was using the 853c and 893c but those rods felt too ...

Re: Metanium MGL - XG or HG for all-around?

The IPT of the HG is 31 and that of the XG is 36. Personally I prefer the 31 IPT for the techniques you mention. I find it easier to speed up my retrieve with a slower reel then to slow down with a faster one. With an XG reel I find my spinner or chatter baits keep rising and blowing out the surfac...

Roger was super easy to buy from. Shipped the item within one hour of making payment.

TT is a great community. I would not hesitate to buy from Roger again.

Re: Loomis NRX 895 balance

i have 893 and 894 and i agree the 894 isn't the most balanced rod but the 893 feels great. Fishing the 894 it's marvelous, is 895 really that bad? Absolutely. For me it's not a fatigue thing it's an unwieldy and less sensitive thing. I had tried to use the 895 on 3/4-1oz fooball but found myself g...

Re: Loomis NRX 895 balance

Rubber cap that goes on a folding chair. I think I stuffed a 2 or 3 oz lead river sinker in mine to balance at a point I liked. I don't mind the overall physical weight after the rod balances out. Give it a shot.

Re: Poison Adrena TWH sale

I checked Amazon today and ordered a Poison Adrena for only $199 shipped. So by waiting I actually saved more than getting it at TW. I hate you  Both my wallet and leggomye990 hate you! LOL Seriously though, thanks for the heads up. I've been looking for a casting rod for drop shot and he 610M...

I've had one on my Fortrex 112 since last summer. Honestly can't tell the difference. Biggest benefit to me is being able to take the prop off without any tools to check for line or to clear weeds.

Re: No necessary in low gear ratio bc reels according to A-M

There have been many on TT that have stated their buying decisions aren't influenced by BASS/FLW pros endorsing them, A-Mart included. A few years back Rick Clunn made the claim that he preferred all his rods be the same length and action, regardless of the technique. He claimed that it helped with ...

Re: Best Frog rod

For open water I really liked the Dobyns 735 Champion. For slop, I went up to the 736c. Seeing how the 736c could be used in both open water and slop, I sold my 735c's. End of this summer I picked up the 7'4" Zillion frog rod. Didn't get any frog fishing in but did use it for topwater stripers and l...
