I would also vote for a Tatula SV or a shimano slx XT.

I find the XT very beginner friendly with the extra fine tuning you can do with it. The tatula with the SV spool is also quite nice.

So I'm really enjoying these blanks. I REALLY like his huge squarebill blank. Got a couple painted up and can't wait to throw them.
