Good question!
Recently fighting an 8# steelhead the drag did not feel real smooth and was a little herky-jerky.

Breaking open the Chronarch MGL
Purchased carbontex drag washers for my chronarch mgl but a little hesitant with the install. I removed the 3 screws but could not get it apart... Anyone have any words of advice? I have searched for a video of a teardown without success. Its a JDM reel so the factory literature is in Japanese so of...

Re: Rod for calcutta conquest bfs?
I've had my eye on these. I really dislike buying a rod and not being able to handle it before purchase. My most recent internet purchase ended up with a rod that just felt to light to me but from a very reputable maker (EDGE) that exchanged no questions asked at a local show so i ended up leaving w...

Re: Berkley Fireline Ultra 8 carrier
Fantastic line! With use the stiffness goes away. Zero tip wrap, casts a mile, and no fraying from a bobber or the stop.
I am using 20# for steelhead float fishing and have zero complaints.

Re: Tatula model differences question ...
I have 6 of the tatula's and really like them. Very simple to adjust and backlashes are nearly impossible unless you happen to snag some plant life behind you on the back stroke. All but the CT R are super smooth. Does anyone know why this may be or have others found the same? I have the 8:1 CT R an...

Chronarch MGL drag clicker
Im trying to find a drag clicker to install in this reel and need the inside gear measurement. I have been asked by a maker of said clickers if the diameter is 35.7 MM. Does anyone know what this measurement is?

Re: Rod for calcutta conquest bfs?
Daiko is no longer making rods. You would need to find a used or old stock one. Yes, it would be a search for a used one but it's hands down the best light BC rod I ever had the pleasure to fish with. I have searched to jupiter and back with no luck finding one of these. Please let me know if you h...

Re: Rod for calcutta conquest bfs?
Anyone tried the Edge rods from Gary Loomis? I have a few friends that are telling me they are in a class by themselves and no longer use the Loomis rods.
I see they make a few finesse rods and are on sale at $230

Re: Rod for calcutta conquest bfs?
Are there any good american made rods for this reel? Seems like all I am finding are JDM rods for this light use.
