Re: Where have all the Full handle Rods Gone

The Fenwich Aetos fly rod is one of the best out there for the price, it blows a lot of more expensive rods away.

Sorry a bit off topic :big grin:

Re: Where have all the Full handle Rods Gone

I like both, but prefer the looks of a full handle myself.

GLX 842c is still one of my favorite rods of all time...

A aluminium retaining plate as there is no access to the other side of the worm shaft to lock it into the frame.
Ah perfect, hopefully I have the right bearing, the ones I have fit the Curado K so hopefully its the same size.

Thanks for the pics.

Level wind behind the idler gear...
Perfect, I got that bearing and knob bearings ready to go.

It looks like a easy change on the level wind, it uses a screw....weird

Re: One Nice All-Purpose Spinning rod

The 76MML-AGS is the standout of a great group of spinning rods in the Steez AGS family. The 7'M AGS is a fantastic rod and has all the positive attributes one would want in a rod of its caliber, but the 76MML has that "it" factor in my hands that's unmistakable when you fish it. There is quite a b...

Re: Bantam MGL

Man I'm having troubles picking a gear ratio now....

Most all my reels are 6.2:1 and its about perfect but I kinda want to try either fast or maybe even slower

Just got a idea, maybe I will really go with the PG version and if I don't like it I will purchase a higher gear ratio from Shimano.

Re: U-40 pros and cons

First thing I do when I get a new rod is apply U-40, been doing it for years and all my rods cork look excellent. I haven't even added any new U-40 to them, at the end of the year I just get a damp towel and wipe them down and they look perfect again and like others have said, the cork filler stays ...

Re: One Nice All-Purpose Spinning rod

All this talk about the 842 is making me want one lol. So far I really really like my 852s nrx. Not designed to be all purpose but so far haven’t found anything I don’t like throwing on it. Would love to grab a longer conquest like a 902s or a used nrx 902s if I stumble across one I would be all ov...

Re: One Nice All-Purpose Spinning rod

Yea thats what I was thinking, since there will never be a need to upgrade in that case. I don't know if I can afford to drop a stella on the conquest just yet, but the new stradic is very nice according to The early reviews on youtube. Eventually, it will probbaly get a stella though. Just throw t...

Re: Double duty for muskie fishing - Expride 73XH?

I also wouldn't recommend it, most muskie rods aren't rated for the fish, they are rated for the lures...

Take look at Okuma guide select swimbaits rods, they are fair priced and will work.
