Re: How many combos do you guys have

they are great quality, in that their reel seats, components, cork, are all second to none.... but they are slightly heavier than I anticipated. I would say they are heavier in action (not necessarily weight) than a comparable shimano compre tc4 trolling rod. I know I paid $230 canadian per rod that...

Re: How many combos do you guys have

(Copper)?????? Copper line. Used as an alternative to leadcore. Big water salmon trolling. My insurance company laughed at my most updated list. Asked where I keep them. Told them in my basement. They actually asked me if water damage / flooding / sewer backup would damage them..... :) :) (I said p...

GREEN nrx reel seat failure!!!

For fug sakes!!! A 893 Green NRX had the reel seat fail on us last week. Same thing as always. Glue let go. Sure Shimano will replace....but even our local retailers WILL NOT take the rods back....they say to deal with Shimano directly!! My buddy is looking to trade 7 NRX's for equivalent new model ...

Re: What's your favorite NRX and why ?

804xmr has become my favourite rod I've ever laid my hands on.

Too bad it costs over ONE THOUSAND DOLLARS Canadian to buy another.

NRX's are being discontinued (or simply not sold) here in Canada due to their increased pricing.

Re: How many combos do you guys have

Here's my updated list. You'd hate (or love) to see tackle list that goes with a rod collection like this one.   This is going to take a while...but it's been a while since I actually listed all my combo's, and my insurance is due for an update so.... Here we go....excuse the "multi ...

Re: How many combos do you guys have

sorry for this bump. kinda my fault. since this original thread years ago, I've kept my post (fifth page) updated as my tackle changed....looks like 21 updates lol. I just kept it updated as it was the only place I had my tackle listed in full - strange eh! anyway, I meant to do another update, but ...

Re: Is a Stella worth it?

well, specifically, the stella is a rock solid, non flexing, powerful reel. I use it for slop senko fishing on my inshore 804xmr nrx rod. for all my light application fishing, weightless open water senko's, shaky heads, etc, I prefer Ci4+ and Sustain's. Stella is my go to when I want power, no flex,...

Re: Is a Stella worth it?

New? I would personally say "no" - at least not for your suggested use.

But a used one? Certainly.

no.

unfortunately not.

in fact its rare for any shimano release to contain a full line of left handed reels.

Re: Shimano 500 reels

you guys are also forgetting another key aspect to discontinuing the 500 series.

shimano (and others) are trying to push BFS series baitcasters.....much higher profit margins....

don't work as well as a 500 sized spinning reel on a 6' rod with some tip, but they look cooler :)

Re: Reeling Demographics... are you a righty or lefty

Curious how much longer Shimano will push their "not enough left handed sales to build a full line of left handed reels" fallacy.

IF I could build with an NRX blank, I would absolutely go custom.

I've personally never heard of another blank being more sensitive.

Re: NRX refresh ?

while they will likely maintain the split grip, I truly don't see them moving towards EVA.

this is still their flagship rod....eva is used for cost savings, not on your flagship rods.
