Re: Major Craft MS-X and MS-X Limited differences?

I have the MSX Limited. I believe the only difference is that the limited has torzite guides - the only reason I bought it was for the torzite guides. this seems correct, with a few exceptions, at least with the spinning models (havent looked at the casting much) they seem to be about an inch longe...

Re: Japan lure shop?

older topic, but figured i would chime in based on my recent experience with JLS, this is my 3rd order through them. 2 separate reel orders and one with bunch of drop shot hooks, and baits. never had a bad experience with any of the japanese tackle shops i have used, but JLS is among the best, imo. ...

i have a twinpower c2000hgs and a previous generation vanquish c2000hgs. the TP is extremely smooth, the reel was sent to me by mistake by digitaka and i liked it so much playing with it waiting for a response to figure out how to get the reel i ordered from them that i bought the TP too! the vanqu...

Re: How much are delivery fees on JDM rod?

i have ordered 3 rods from japan (1 from each, jpangler, plat and megabass outlet) and was hit with duty on 2 of them, each time it was between $25-30. i pretty much just factor $30 extra into the price of the rod im buying to cover duty, and if it doesnt get hit, i am happier!

Re: Can someone school me on JDM Daiwa spinning reels?

most of the JDM spinning reels from daiwa dont really have usdm equivalents, and some are sold in the us as well, at least through some places (TW has the cerates and luvias, for instance) i dont know about drag numbers, but from my experience, the 2000 and 2500 size reels from daiwa have plenty of ...

i do wish they would say what guides they put on them, can tell from the pics that they are a tangle free design (on the spinning rods anyways) but no mention of brand or insert material.
Appear to be black Fuji SS/Alconites. Like the new Destroyers.

i would be totally fine with alconites!

Re: Orochi XXX

from what i have read elsewhere these are supposed to be the replacement for the orochi X4, how true that is i am not sure. i do know that i am looking at the slend type f (f1-66ks) for a nice little almost ultralight, was going to buy a major craft speedstyle, but think i am going to get an orochi ...

Re: New St Croix Legend Elite

Are we sure the new models are not just upgraded components? The previous legend elites also has scv and scvi graphite used in the blanks. Maybe they added another of their acronym tech stuff to the blanks, but graphite is the same. I am thinking about the 7-4 hf for a big jig rod (3/4-1oz) and oth...

Re: UL rod for 1/64-1/16 oz jigs

i have ordered 3 1pc rods from japan (plat, jpangler and megabass) and was hit twice with duty, which was around $27 both times. the light rod loads progressively down the blank, not quite half way before the backbone really kicks in, its not a true ultra light but its plenty of fun with panfish, an...

Re: UL rod for 1/64-1/16 oz jigs

take a look at the major craft ms-x limited 6'4" UL it has a solid tip and is 1 pc. would be around $360 shipped though, from digitaka. (they make it in the ms-x as well, around $270 shipped) i have the 6'5" l/f ms-s limited, which has a tubular tip, it fishes more like a slightly heavier UL than a ...

Re: Help me to pick a spinning reel

i have that same rod, since i got it in june it has had a certate 2000 on it, which was a really good combo, though its not a super light rod and the reel is heavy, it balanced pretty well. today i put my ignis type-r 2505 on it, it balances right where my index finger hits the foregrip (i hold the ...

Re: Is this normal

i bought a major craft ms-x limited from plat about a year ago, when the yen was a bit weaker than it is right now, and the shipping was around $95 with their handling charge included. love the rod, and at the time plat was the only place that carried it, now that digitaka has them i would probably ...

Re: Braid - how light is too light

a little old topic, but i have used 6lb 832 and 6 and 8lb nanobraid, have not had any issues with break offs. im considering trying out 4lb nanobraid next year on a c2000hgs twinpower, since shimano shallow spools are SUPER shallow. i am also liking gliss, have tried both 18 and 24lb, and havent had...
