Re: JDM Spin Reels

i love my daiwa ignis type r, not sure if they are out of production now, because they seem to be pretty hard to come by on the JDM sites, but it is a great reel. i have a bunch of certates (all 2000/2004 size), a shimano TP c2000hgs, a shimano vanquish c2000hgs (first gen), a shimano complex ci4+ c...

Re: Your top UL baits

i have been doing really well on what i call the ultra finesse trd worm and super finesse trd worm, i take a zman finesse wormz and cut it in half, the bigger end is the super and the thin tail end the ultra! works out to about 2.25-2.5" baits, fish them on a 1/32, 1/24 or 1/16 jig (i pour them with...

Re: Megabass XX Dropshot vs. Stinger Tip for DS and general finesse?

i have not fished the stinger shot, but have fished the dropshot for a few years now. for your needs of DS, ned rig, small cranks (love this rod for a KVD 1.0, #7 flicker shad/shad rap, etc) and a weightless trick worm, i think that the DS special will fit the bill perfectly.

Re: Major Craft spinning

i have the ms-x limited 6'5" L, it is a great rod, love it for 1/32 jig heads with a 2" grub or 3" senko (i usually start with a full 3" senko and bite it off a bit as it tears apart), as well as probably the best 1/16th jig rod i have used. i have also used a lot of 1/8 jigs on it, as well as 1/4 a...

Re: what is the best mb spinning rod?

i would have to say one of the aaron martens limited models (or their close relatives) for all around spinning rods. i own the orochi xx dropshot special, 2 of the orochi x4 aarons martens limiteds and a destroyer phase 3 aaron martens limited. sadly i dont use the phase 3 much at the moment since i...

Re: Tungsten Spinnerbaits

i know this is an old thread, and not sure it will help any but i remember this thread because i too really like this spinnerbait. the reel shot in appleton wi has a bunch of these spinnerbaits (probably 75-100 or so) most or all seem to be either dual colorado blades or a single indiana(?) blade, a...

Re: Daiwa J-Braid Opinions

i bought a spool of 8lb on a whim earlier this year, and have since bought 3 more spools, all 8lb (one chartreuse, 3 dark green). i really like the line. i havent noticed it holding any more water than other braids, and the bleed isnt any worse than other braids either. recently my favorite line has...

Re: JDM Rod Questions

I ordered a major craft msx limited from plat, they charge more than the some of the other JDM sites (jpangler and megabass before they stopped shipping for example) but the rod was packed extremely well, bubble wrap the whole length and each of the bigger guides individually wrapped as well, in a p...

Re: Ned Rig

i have been using the ned rig for a few years with a 3" senko or knockoff (dingers, barlows rat tails, gander mountain, etc) and it catches the fish thats for sure. i started using the trd worms (and tubez last year) a couple years ago and while i dont feel that they catch more fish, they sure do la...

Re: First look at Megabass Destroyer USA rods

having no knowledge about it at all i would guess either icast or the classic next year for new models. i would LOVE to see something along the lines of the x7 powerhouse in the spinning line up. i missed out on the powerhouse and regret it every day!

Re: Love JDM gear.

i have that same Major Craft ms-x (limited) and it is an absolute blast catching smallies on, easily my favorite rod! i had a shimano vanquish c2000hgs on it for the past 2 years, but will be putting a shimano complex c2500s on it this year and moving the vanquish to my new rod. i am hoping that the...

Re: 2017: Favorite Technique to Catch Bass

i put "senko style baits" as i will fish the "ned rig" a ton this year, with both the TRD stuff from zman and a 3" stick bait (mostly from Barlows tackle, but alot of 3" yum dingers too), smallies LOVE a 3" senko!

Re: Nanobraid, Gliss opinions

i have been using nanobraid for 2 years now, since it was originally available at cabelas (in 6, 8 and 10lb tests) and used gliss last year (in 18 and 24lb tests). i have not had any issues with nanobraid, it casts well, is not super loud through the guides, and has been durable for me. as to be exp...

Re: Major Craft MS-X and MS-X Limited differences?

I have the MSX Limited. I believe the only difference is that the limited has torzite guides - the only reason I bought it was for the torzite guides. this seems correct, with a few exceptions, at least with the spinning models (havent looked at the casting much) they seem to be about an inch longe...
