Re: Fishing Magazines

I agree that Bass master is one of the best if not the best bass magazine I have run into. It has a lot of great information regarding techniques and patterns which have helped my fishing. It is also well written/edited when compared to other magazines so it gets my vote.

Lunker Punker walking advice

Hi All, I was wondering if anyone can provide some tips on walking 5 & 6 inch injected Lunker Punkers. I was testing them out yesterday and could not get them to walk, only chug forward. It was a little choppy but other baits were fine. If you can share your techniques it would be much appreciated. ...

Re: Dropshot line concerns and thoughts

The easiest thing to do like others have said is to close the bail by hand instead of cranking the handle. I have used flouro as mainline for the past few years for dropshotting and haven't had any real issues with twist. Another tip to add which works for me when there is "some" twist present, bomb...

Great idea! It would be extremely interesting to see the results of such a test.

Re: What got you into this?

Like most of you, I have my dad to thank. He would take me out to his friend's pond and we would catch bluegill all day. What really hooked me was on one of those trips I hooked into a 4lb largemouth and the rest is history.

Those are some of my best memories as a kid.

Re: learning to "finesse"

My suggestion is to really try and feel your sinker or jig head dragging on the bottom. Don't pull it and then let fall to the bottom, but actually feel the weight dragging the bottom. Tungsten sinkers can help and it is much easier to feel a rocky or other hard bottom. Once you get a sense for how...

Gann's Stilleto Spinnerbait, 3/8 ounce in chartreuse. Great quality and of course catches fish for me.

Megabass Orochi X4 Destruction x 2. For some reason this rod is just really satisfying to fish.

I have no preference on jig brand either but for trailers, V&M Mudbugs and Baby Mudbugs work well for me and I think are worth a try.

Re: Help me pick a rod

One of the discontinued Cumaras might fit the bill. They are light, sensitive and would be a great match for the Core you have. Plus they can be found on sale now which makes them even more attractive.
