Re: Bent spool pin?

Yes, Boca bearings are noisy, and yes their spool pin pliers lack precision. They should CNC machine their product! Nevertheless, a careful and steady hand will alleviate damaging the spool and pin. A chewed up spool pin is going to damage the pinion whenever the two contact. Look at the pinion now ...

Re: TDZ 103ML - Clutch Cam Spring Failure

Yes, the white pad is present and correctly installed.

Does the TDZ frame come from factory with a small groove already made to allow room for the spring to rotate? Because I can see a groove in the inside edge of the frame itself, as if that spring has worn into the metal frame.

TDZ 103ML - Clutch Cam Spring Failure

Hey guys, I am servicing a TDZ 103ML and the clutch cam spring keeps popping out of the frame while engaging and disengaging the reel, while fully rebuilt. I can see there is some damage to the metal insert in that small hole in the frame where the spring inserts. The clutch cam spring is brand new....

Daiwa Pluton - Weak Drag

I have serviced a Pluton for a friend, after that he took it fishing and reported back a very weak drag. He said it would slip while catching 2lb. Bass. Stock drag pressure should be 12lbs. My primary suspicion is that the carbon drag washers are compressed from being under so much pressure. The ree...

Re: T3 MX - Knocking Sound

I ordered gears from the US T3 of the same ratio but they are slightly different. I installed them and the knocking sound is resolved but once I install the spool it is clear that there are some fitment issues. Bummer because the new gear and pinion felt like butter. I am told by one of the Japanese...

Re: Next TDZ Project: 100M

From what I can tell the reel paint work looks sharp! Sorry about the fitment issues. Thanks dude! Yeah but hey for my first go at it, I am rather pleased with the overall results. Just need to fine tune the control factor. I hope to just get another frame and so the end result is a flawless build ...
