Re: Superslick V2 Moonshine

Some fluorescent lines show up better with polarized fishing glasses on...like the old Stren lines - original mono and Microfuse superline.

I'll assume this Moonshine will too.

Re: Securing braid to the rod?

How many rods or how are you transporting your rods? I'd say that on my lighter power rods, I get unwanted line tangles here and there. On my heavy rod power, I don't have any issues with braids. Since the rod tip isn't flexing during transport/travel, the line never loosens up. Other than that, ins...

Re: Trout spoon recommendations?

Acme Kastmaster and Luhr Jensen's Cast Champ are always my first pick. Simply they work in various water from ponds to stream rapids. If need a heavier type Krocodiles would be my next pick. If heavy weight and for drifting scenario Acme KO Wobbler spoon. Nothing fancy but works are Bomber Slab spoo...

Re: Baitcasting Reel: Single knob handle instead of double?

So little to do with the actual reel, but when traveling around and holding a bunch of rods in one hand just to set them down in the corner here and there. When you go to grab the rod you want and find that the handles are tangling upon themselves on reels and lines. That is to say there's a slight ...

Re: Color braid?

I prefer dark red, dark green, and fluorescent blue, green and yellow as well. What brand line is that fluorescent blue ? Oh you would ask that! Man I have no idea really. I work for a rod and reel repair shop and we get sent all kinds of stuff from manufacturers wanting our approval or reviews on ...

Re: Daiwa J Braid Grand 8,15,20, 30lbs ABS and Knot Breaking Strength Tests

Again, thanks for testing. I got some in the mail a few months ago and when I compared against the standard J Braid. I pinched and push the line together to see how easily the strands will compressed and separate from it's weave. It seems that J Braid Grand separates much easier than J Braid. These ...

Re: Bubble fishing for trout

I know you said bubble, but one thing I used was a clear spook puppy. There are times that trouts will spit the fly/lure out before I get a hook set. With the spook puppy, it was a much more smoother take. On top of that, the casting distance was better than a standard bubble/bobber. I still use bu...
