Re: Foregrip or no foregrip?

Us guys in the north here sometimes fish in that freezing temps so it's good to have a cork fore grip. :big grin:

Re: Feathered trebles on Sammy, Spook, etc. tails?

On the smaller types definitely affects. The larger ones, only so so.

If you tie like only three feathers, it usually doesn't affect too much.

Re: St. Croix Legend Elite

St. Croix Legend Elite was my first expensive rod I bought into. I went from their Premiere to Avid then Legend Elite. I have the old brown blank and reel seats ones when I first got it. The Legend Elite has always been a straight multi purpose rod for me. I use it for anything. For myself the one t...

Re: Fishing fingers

I just use a net now...I've had enough fish tooth damage on thumbs and hands. Yes, I don't ever jaw grab catfish anymore. The damage to the back of the hand is still damage. I definitely should invest in some lip grabbers.

Re: Winter is coming

I look more forward to winter ice fishing. For one thing, I don't need to deal with people in their boat wakes, nor people with their erratic casting that crosses lines.

The only thing I really have to worry is snowmobile's that are speeding to close.

Re: 1-3g hard baits

Funny you mentioned those old Yo-Zuri baits with the articulated tails. The Wally Worlds in my region all have Yo-Zuri/Duel dump boxes on the bottom shelf. They're a mixture of salt & fresh water baits. I've been grabbing these when I can find them (selection varies by store, never know what you'll...

Re: 1-3g hard baits

Not sure why I didn't remember the old Yo Zuri Aile Goby and Aile Kill Fish lures.

Snap Shad
Arms Shad
Arms Minnow

All great lures, back in the days.

Re: Baitcaster Braid Weight?

Diawa J-braid 15# braid on the Bantam MGL casts further and with less effort than 20# braid on the Chronarch MGL.
I'm still running 15# Fireline braid on my Metanium MG7.

Most of my lures are 1/4 oz lures...

Re: Round vs Flat braid list

Typically most four carrier braids will flatten out easy. Braids will flatten out due to compression and also pull tension.
