Re: Stella 2500 FE on the way!

Two Steez spinning reels (2500 and 2508) were my first "enthusiast" reels and have continued to operate as smooth as the day I purchased them in 2007. But after acquiring a Pixzilla and Presszilla, I had no plans for any additional spinning reels. That is until someone "who shall not be named" stopp...

So much for the 'low profile' 8-)
But, thanks D.

Sold a few things also  (yeah, it was difficult)
No negative feedback, so I assume all was good :big grin:

Re: ABEC 9 Question?

This post summarizes my experience (extremely positive) with ABEC 9 spool bearings in my Steez reels. My experience is identical several other reels.

Re: NRX vs Steez vs Megabass

That arguement always blows me away. I could not care less what it looks like. I'm 100% about performance and sensitivity. It could be a neon green reel and a hot pink rod for all I care. To each their own though, I guess. No sure what "argument" is referenced. It seems more like an opinion/appreci...

Re: NRX vs Steez vs Megabass

Guess that goes to show how subjective "sensitivity" is. In my hands, my Steez Compile-X spinning and casting rods are definitely more sensitive than my Loomis GLX rods. In fact, over the past two years, my Dobyns DX Extremes have completely replaced all of my GLX rods, but not the Compile-X rods. S...

Re: Braid to Fluro Knot

I have used this version of the Improved Albright for over a year, with 7-9 wraps around the leader loop and braid and 3-4 single wraps at the end. It produces a very small knot at close to 100% breaking strength of the lightest line. No problem passing through micro-guides and I have straightened s...

Re: BOCAs in a Steez??

I have added both Boca OS ABEC 7s (no seal) and high-quality ABEC 9s to both Steez 103HLA and 100HLA reels. The was a measurable performance difference between the ABEC 7s and the stock Steez spool bearings (flushed and relubed) , but not a major difference. The difference when upgrading to high qua...

If you have difficulty finding teflon sealed jars, this post provides a source, which I have been using for several months.

Re: Conquest 50S

It will likely be the Daiko Burroughs BRSC-64L. Paired with a Presszilla, Pixzilla, or Conquest 51, I can cast lures that required a spinning rig in the past.

Re: Fluorocarbon help please

I realized that you specified mainline fluoro for use as a leader, which is what I used for the past two+ years until recently. Toray Super Hard Upgrade, Yo-Zuri Hybrid, and Tatsu were all good choices, but several months ago I moved to "leader" specific fluorocarbon. After talking with a very knowl...
