Re: Megabass Travel Rods

"Aquaftm45" and "tditox4 " thanks so much for the information about spigot ferrule connections. I am glad I waited before trying the"lube" approach.

I am looking forward to using the rods during a trip back to Michigan where I grew up and first started fishing.

Megabass Travel Rods

I purchased these Megabass travel rods and need a little assistance. The directions are in Japanese and my Japanese language 'connection' is not available for a while. But, it appears that it is recommended to assemble/disassemble the rods by "twisting" the pieces rather than a direct "push" or "pul...

Re: ratherbefishin : Feedback Request Topic

Great doing business with Warren. Great communication. Rods were shipped, with a tracking number, immediately after payment was received and were packaged securely. They were exactly as described.

Would definitely does business with him again.

Yes, Dan Issac at ReelEx =D>

I do my own Daiwa maintenance and super tuning (thanks ChuckE), but Dan does all my Shimanos.

Re: Metanium worth the extra cost?

Help a Daiwa guy here with a quickie Chronarch/Metanium/MGL primer - I picked up a couple NRX's and was planning on putting one of my OG Steez's or an Alpha SV on them, but have been thinking about trying an MGL level reel so thought I might pick one up also. Basically will be for soft plastics/jig...

Re: Should I get 872s or 902s NRX

Not disputing your experience, mine is just different, which is why there are a wide selection of rods. It's all good :) I use the NRX 852C for small to moderate Keitech paddletails, Fat Ika, and larger worms such as the 6.8" Jackall Flick Shake. So, if the 852S is comparable in performance, if woul...

Re: Should I get 872s or 902s NRX

Finishing finesse plastics, with bottom contact, I have had no problem controlling/boating numerous 5 and 6 lb. largemouths, as well as my previous PB of 7.98 and new PB of 10.82 using my 902S, so if it is a noodle, pretty darn effective "noodle". Purchased mine a couple of years ago on the recommen...

I use a NRX 902S for finesse plastics and it an amazing rod. In terms of power and ability to handle big fish, see this post.

10.82# at Clear Lake, CA

I set a new personal best at the 2018 Triton Boat Owners Tournament West , held this past weekend (6-7 October) on Clear Lake. After a very slow morning, with only two small fish in the boat at noon, I missed on a 3-4lb LMB :crying: . We then moved to the second spot we located during Thu/Fri pre-fi...

I've had numerous dealings with Jay and he is a stand up guy. Nothing but smooth and flawless transactions. You won't find many better to deal with. +100 and he like See's Candies (whoops, was that suppose to be a secret :laugh1:) I think there is a box in here somewhere with yours and Carol's name...

Re: Bearing Sizes in Zillion Type R

You might try flushing and re-lubricating the stock spool bearings before upgrading to Boca OS spool bearings. My experience is that after a flush and re-lubrication with Oust Met-Oil, performance with the stock spool bearings was at least equal to Boca OS ABEC 7 spool bearings, if not slightly bett...

Re: best japanese reel grease

+1 on Super Lube. I have cycled through the majority of greases and, to date, it is my 'go to' grease. Super Lube's longevity is also excellent. I am going on a year+ plus with several reels that were lubricated with Super Lube, fished on multiple rainy days and they are just as smooth as the first ...
