Re: Show off your OG Zillion

Some beautiful reals posted so far. I’m not one to post much but this thread was too tempting to pass up. Still tweaking with some before our season opens. - 50th anniversay silver and red parts, 7.1 gear set - Deps DR-100ZX - J-dream 5.3 body with silver parts , 7.9 gear set - crazy cranker with b...

Re: St. Croix Legend Xtreme 2020

Here are some ramblings about this whole thing from my perspective. There is a LOT to consider here guys, from the standpoint of a fisherman, a retailer, or even a manufacturer. First of all, from a manufacturers standpoint, they are rightfully excited about their new flagship rod, especially consi...

Re: Battery Setup for Helix 7

I just purchased a Helix 7 SI G2 and now I'm looking at batteries and battery boxes. I have a Topwater 120 PDL and I think I'd prefer to have the battery under the front hatch instead of mounted on a side rail. Are there any particular products/configurations that you'd recommend? Will some of the ...

Re: Valkyrie rods

I just received the 7'1" MH from the tackle trap last week. As far as it being sensitive I think it will be over the top for spinner baits and bladed jigs. I have personally seen that sensitivity is partial to the persons perception in their hands. One thing I learned was that as a fisherman you ha...

Re: Spool options for IP68

I have an unaltered IP79. The magnets are stock and I have a PE spool in it. I really don’t have any issues with it. It’s mounted on a power versatile rod and will flick a lure 3/8oz. I took the stock spool and dropped it in a tuned TDZ 100–M. So for clarity I have two 100M reels. One has the zillio...

Re: Spool options for IP68

The stock spool in the IP68 is not giving me the distance I would like. Looking for a " long bomb" spool for 6xd, 8xd etc. Thanks in advance :D I have a dimpled Zillion HLC in my TDZ M paired with a laminglas 7'4" rod and I'm using fluorocarbon. 14lb and I can put any trap or crank in orbit no wild...

Going to the Lighter Side

looking for rod recommendations for Crappie and Pan fish. I've been doing some reading and 1/16-1/4 4-8lb test seems good for a Major craft rod. Im only dipping my toe into crappie and pan fishing and would like to see what the consensus is with where one should began. I had rod by rapala that I gav...

Re: My Take On Modern Vintage Casting Setup

Very Nice looking set up. How comfortable is the pistol grip?
I've never used one and would like to know what you intend to do with it, like what technique did you have in mind?
